With the state of NY rap (and rap in general), it's a nice CD. i will bump a few of the songs... 'Queens Get The Money' and "Slave and The Master' are classics to me but the filler tracks through me

Here Ill tell you. When it comes to the word nigger there is only oppinions. Diff ppl see the word diff. There is no FACT on the differences, not even an "-er" or an "-a". Why?... because there are ppl that see the 2 words as the SAME... dont believe that? I beg of you to name a history book that defines nigger and all its variations... plz... cuz id like to know. I cant think of a solution to nigger so i just dont say it... i dont have to do with any of its problems/ends/effects on ppl/society.

Well rapf let me apologize for my lack of pigmentation cause that's obviously a huge factor in determining the history and use of a word . And whether you despise graff or not doesn't matter, I can put two and two together and that's all I need.

About the word, you are right and wrong, you are wrong when you say that "nigger" and "nigga" are the same, because "nigga" was never said in the 1800's or early 1900's unless you had the accent, and even then people were really saying "nigger" (study up on some linguistics, it's all in the development of language). "Nigga" came about around the mid 1900's and it was actually derived from mafia slang (for the mobsters that had African Americans as bodyguards).

But you are right on one thing, the word "nigger" has many variations, because the word originally meant "slacker" which means that the use of the word by old white people was obviously meant for hateful purposes. Now the word "nigger" wasn't just a harmful word used towards African Americans as people of color all around the world weree victims of this word (Somali Muslims for example, peep Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali) and the word has roots in Latin (negro meaning black) and French (negre, same meaning) but it's so much more than that even.

Hey my bad for the whole kiss my ass thing but it was due. I live in Cleveland where I hear white, black, and hispanic people call eachother "nigga" every day of my life, so my bad if comming to a conclusion based on real life examples is the wrong way to go about it . Anyway, I'm done, I hate talking about the damn word, this thread started off as an album discussion but I guess Nas gets his wish with his album sparkin a discussion like this. Anyway rapf and Black, both of you are cool in my book even though you get on my fuckin nerves but still....

As i said, i found it funny cuz the circumstance was amusin. Somewhat ironic that a white person would be explainin nigga to a black person. I never said you have no idea wut ur talkin about when you give ur oppinion on nigger. A white man can have an oppinion on the word nigger, and you can base them off your own experiences. Im just sayin its ur oppinion and that when it comes to that word there is ONLY oppinion.

History facts that you give mean nuthin really. Those are facts on how the word was percieved among a CERTAIN group durin a CERTAIN time. There is no set in stone definition of "nigger" with ALL its variations. If its defined as a durragatory term for blacks... it fails to mention the major OTHER widely accepted definition as friend or its function as a pronoun. Everybody sees it differently... do you understand? Its all subjective.

So dont fuckin try tellin ME wtf is "right" and "wrong" about MY oppinion of the word. You dont see me doin that to yours (unless your still beyond comprehension and think i did before).
