It makes no sense to send someone to jail for lying. If they must punish someone for perjury why cant they do community service or even have house arrest but to take up space in a jail where REAL CRIMINALS need to be is stupid. The only people that belong in jail are: Killers, Rapists, Molesters, and Thieves and Kim is NOT any of those horrible things. So why is it that she has spent all these months in jail for something that could have been taken care of elsewhere? Makes no sense at all. Some of these laws we have need to be changed.

I agree with you totally LovinKim. There is no reason at all for Kim to be incarcerated. What purpose does it serve? She is not a threat to the public or national security. She did not victimize anyone. Her actions are not wrong in her eyes (and our eyes) because she was only protecting her loved ones, so rehabilitation is not a factor. Her jail time is purely punishment - an attempt to "make an example" of a young, black, gifted woman.

But thank God that the judge presiding over her case understands a little bit about real life. The judge gave Kim a year and a day so that she'd be eligible for early release. If Kim had been sentenced to just a year then she would have been required to serve the entire year without any opportunities for an early out.

I'm just waiting to see her welcome home party! You know it's going to be ridiculous!

The fact of the matter is that Kim got off extremely easy! You let someone who isn't a celebrity be found guilty of perjury and you can bet that they would get a lot more than a year and a day.
