Growing up I always looked up to Darrell Abbott as one of my biggest guitar influences. I started playing acoustic guitar when i was 8 and started listening to Pantera when i was 11, it was soon after I was begging for an electric guitar cuz I wanted to be like Dimebag. He was my first "guitar hero" I looked up to and is still at the top of my favorite guitarists list (second only to Criss Oliva, also deceased, gee all my favorite guitarists are dead Frowner well at least Yngwie Malmsteen is still alive). A year ago today he was taken from us in a senseless act of violence, and December 8th will forever be a sad day for me.

"He came to rock
And rocked like no other
With the heart twice the size of Texas
Our beloved brother, companion, mentor, idol and friend
We love you Dime
Until we meet again"

RIP Dimebag Darrell Abbott
