For some reason, I managed to delete my first post on this, so hopefully I can remember it!
First of all, I wanted to congratulate the band on a fantastic performance Tuesday night at the Val Air Ballroom. It was hot as hell in there, as usual, and you guys hung in there like champs! Everyone sounded great and I thoroughly enjoyed my third time seeing Halestorm! One question though, what was the song you sang after the Drum Circle? I didn't think I had heard it before... Here are some pictures I took with my semi-crappy digital camera. I'll post some videos soon on youtube as well. You can view all the pictures here: http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b87/kawgirl12/Halestorm/ I like to think Joe's looking right at me in this one First Try: Second Try (I think the security guy was getting upset I was taking so many pictures!): On a more serious note, I don't know if the band will actually read this or not, but your music now has a different meaning to me. I was supposed to attend the concert with a friend of mine who was a big fan and had been to the two previous Halestorm shows I saw. I went to the venue straight from the airport (I had just gotten home from Vegas) and was supposed to meet her there. I never heard from her so I just went in myself. After the signing and listening to some of Evans Blue's set, I left because it just wasn't as fun without my concert buddy with me. I had a couple missed calls on my phone and when I called them back, I found out that my friend had died on Sunday. In a matter of minutes, I went from super happy (I couldn't believe you guys actually kinda recognized me- made me feel pretty good!!) to devastated. I shouldn't have to be attending a 22 year-old's funeral tomorrow. So now whenever I listen to your music, I think of the good times we had singing along with you at the Cedar Rapids concert while everyone else looked at us and rocking out the CD on the way there, along with all our other memories. So thank you, Halestorm, for your music and your true passion and love for the fans. Your music is now even more a part of my life. I hope Megs can still hear it... Katie |

Lzzy has the Emilie Autumn hair going on again. No one knows who EA is but believe me, it's EA hair.
If it's the same new song they played in NH and NJ, it's called Tired of Trying. Starts off quiet and gets really heavy? I think it might be my new favorite Halestorm song. Saying I'm sorry about your friend feels insincere but that's the best I can come up with. Losing one of my friends is the thing I'm most afraid of so I can't even imagine what you must be going through. |

I can't really empathize with you, because I'm lucky enough to have not gone through the loss of a close friend...but I am sorry and I'll keep both you and your friend in my prayers...

Katie, when I first opened up your post, I was so excited to see your pictures and that you had a wonderful time. Also, I finally have a picture to put with the person whose been on the boards with me these last months.
After reading about your friend, I'm truly saddened by your loss. It's scary because I myself am 22 years old, and things like this really make you realize that life is so short and precious that we should cherish every moment. Live life to it's fullest! Of course, nothing right now can probably be said to make things better. However, know that you have people here that you can talk to if you need to! You and your friend are both in my prayers......... |

Thanks to everyone for their kind words. It means a lot to me. It's nice to have some music to listen to that reminds me of the good times we had, so thank you again to Halestorm for your music!

Thanks so much for sharing that. Looks like you had such a great time. I love the new songs. Glad I'm not the only one that loves "tired".
Katie, I am sorry to hear about your friend. The memories and good times can not be forgotten. It's never easy to lose someone especially a friend. You are definately in my thoughts. Deanna |

Katie, I LOVE your videos! It makes me miss the band even more. Haven't seen them since March on SnoCore Tour (Equinox didn't come anywhere near Florida).
Note to Band: Get your butts down here! I miss talking to you guys! |

Glad you like the videos, Jen! I wanted to take more, or at least make them longer, but I had to save memory space for M&G pictures! It's definitely nice to watch all of the videos on youtube because it makes up for not being able to see the band live all the time.
And Deanna, I appreciate what you said. It's very true that the memories and good times cannot be forgotten. That's why I'm so glad I have Halestorm's music to help me remember them! Katie |
