When you say female vocalist in a hard rock band usually most people have Amy Lee (Evanescence) and Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) come to mind first. while I like both of these ladies pipes, I think Liz's are a little better. First off, I've never heard any of the other ones hold a note as long as Liz (In their one single called "The Eye" Liz holds a note for like 13 or 14 seconds near the end of that song). Secondly, Liz plays the guitar AND sings in all the songs when Halestorm plays live (she even used to play piano and guitar and sing a few years ago). Amy Lee plays the piano in a couple of songs but thats all as far as I know, and Scabbia I don't recall playing any instruments live. And finally the biggest difference to me-vocal range. Lee and Scabbia have pretty good high to low range but I think Liz bests them both in that category by a pretty good margin. and in "Takes My Life" I don't think there are a whole lot of other female singers that could pull those screams off (I'm thinkin Janis Joplin can but she's dead and not really hard rock music). So what do ya'll think? or are there any other prominent female rock singers I have forgotten about?

Ok... in my humble opinion Miss Amy Lee and Miss Scabbia don't even come CLOSE to Lzzy! Lzzy's voice has got that rrrrough edge that is needed for pure rock... and yes you forgot to mention THE important lady vocalist in rock : ANN WILSON... from HEART! I was positively shocked when I heard Lzzy for the very first time... although I hate to compare but Liz can fill Ann's boots with ease... HALESTORM... YOU simply ROCK! So glad that I've found you... still blame Jasin from Shinedown who pimped you guys like hell... ~Stefanie~

Don't like to to compare people because it puts one or the other down. So I'll say what I always say:
"Sings as good as Ann Wilson and plays guitar as good as Nancy Wilson. She's flat-out MESMERIZING!"

I thought the same thing of Lzzy's voice...cross between Amy Lee & Ann Wilson. Lzzy has some amazing pipes! She and the band are gonna go a long long way!

I asked Lzzy about her range once and she has a 5 octive range which is huge! Amy Lee is a soprano and probably does not have the octive range that Lzzy has. Anyone who has heard her do Hallelujah and Oh Darlin know that she can go from very low to extreme high with her vocals. She sounds like the glass windows will shatter! Amy Lee can't touch Lzzy.
