cons: i think its eerily similar to the "soul meets body" video in that theyre all playing in a cold place wearing nice winter clothing using vintage-type equipment
pros: at the same time, the little story that goes along with it is kinda cool and the girl is quite the view, heh
Death Cab For Cutie Release Video for "I Will Possess Your Heart"; New Album, "Narrow Stairs," in Stores and Online May 13th; Band Announces More Tour Dates
NEW YORK, NY -- 04/15/08 -- Atlantic recording group Death Cab For Cutie has released the much-awaited new video for "I Will Possess Your Heart," the first single from their upcoming album "NARROW STAIRS" (see below for video links). Death Cab For Cutie once again push the envelope creatively and visually, enlisting long time friend and collaborator Aaron Stuart-Ahn as well as acclaimed cinematographer/videographer Shawn Kim to shoot this amazing companion piece.
Stewart-Ahn and the female protagonist traveled the world, filming in ten different locations -- London, Paris, Frankfurt, Carthage and Tunis in Tunisia, Bangkok, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia, Tokyo and Hokkaido in Japan, and NYC. For the performance footage, Shawn Kim spent a day shooting the band in a food storage facility in Los Angeles where the temperature never rose above 12 degrees.
There are both album and single versions of the "I Will Possess Your Heart" video. The album version, which is eight minutes long, premiered on April 11th on MTV.com and VH1.com. The shorter, single-length version premiered on April 12th on MTV2. The video was immediately added to MTV, MTV2, VH1, and Fuse in its first week.
its sweet, dont get me wrong. just im not sure the point of the video. as much as it pains me to say this, i agree with alex. its hard for me to sit through it. what keeps me on it is the music, and seeing the band play

There are some similarities between the two, but they're definitely two different women, IMO. If they're the the same, she grew up quite nicely. The lady in I Will Possess Your Heart isn't stunningly gorgeous, but I think the normality of her is what is really appealing.
As for the video, I can't stop watching it. I like the concept, I like the woman, and I like the song. Also, it's a good way for me to pass 8 1/2 minutes instead of doing work!
