I have managed to persuade a good mate of mine that he should have a DCFC tribute band play at his upcoming birthday party in December.

He has a few other local bands doing acoustic sets so me, my daughter and her music teacher are gonna play ten songs in the Ben Gibbard solo style. Some with vocals and piano, some with vocals and guitar.

Suggested tracks would be welcome, but they must be relatively easy to do acoustically.

Also, suggest a name for our trio. Currently we have either The Fake Frowns, Lovers At Last or Something About Airplanes.

Personally I prefer Lovers At Last because it is not so obvious, but you get the drift, it has to be DCFC related.

By the way, we will definitely play A Steadier Footing, Bad Reputation and Couches In Alleys because we already can.

And the hardest part is yet to come

I personally like The Army Corp of Architects. I'm not sure you can avoid I Will Follow You into the Dark being a tribute and acoustic band.

Both of the above are sufficiently obscure.

Yes, IWFYITD is a contender. I think that "in the blackest of roooooooooooooms" could be a test though.

Dissolve The Chemicals. Talk about obscure.

When lava flows underwater it behaves differently.

And I have learned that even landlocked lovers yearn for the sea like navy men.

I feel like Ben said in an interview that if there was ever a tribute band to Death Cab, he would think its name should be 20th Century Towers. I'll try to find that interview.
