Don't know if anyone is interested, but I just came across a review in last weeks Sunday Times of a new release by Passion Pit which starts.....

In the abscence of a second album by the Ben Gibbard (DCFC) electro side project the Postal Service, here is a new Boston 5 piece with a debut EP, Chunk Of Change, that glories in many of the same cadences, synth-driven chord sequences, melodic hooks and propulsive drum-machine beats that made Give Up so indispenable.

It concludes by saying that......any fan of the Postal Service will love this.

On first listen, it does sound very like Postal Service.

And the hardest part is yet to come

Cool, thanks for the tip. Jimmy Tamborello has some covers (I think?) up for free download on his website for a limited period of time, so get them before he takes them off his website. I read he was gonna master them and then send them to the label for a subsequent release.

You can get the songs at www.jimmytamborello.com - projects - dntel - audio.

Sorry for going off-topic but you reminded me. Smiler And I'll check Passion Pit out, will comment later.

Thanks a lot for the info. I had never heard of them. I think they're increadible! They sound sort of like the Postal Service, but a little more intense. The singer reminds me of the singer of MGMT. I highly recommend buying thier debut EP, Chunk of Change. If you can't buy it, check out the songs I've Got Your Number, Smile Upon Me, and Sleepyhead.

Thank you, Graham Hall, for alerting me of my new favorite band.

It's my pleasure and I'm pleased to have been of service Smiler Sleepyhead is a great song.

Something else you may like to listen to is Florence and the Machine. At the moment I'm trying to get my hands on as much of her stuff as possible. She does a great cover of You've Got The Love - which you will recognise immediately, although I can't remember who did the original.

I love Passion Pit!
Glad I'm not the only one.

Sleepyhead is just insane, the remixes out there of it are great too. Message me if you want some or need help finding them.

I just got the new record from the internet, it leaked a couple of days ago. It's really good, a little more complex than the Chunk of Change EP.

Edit: I listened to it another time, and scratch that about it be really good. It's the best record since Silent Alarm by Bloc Party IMO.

I am looking forward to listening to the whole album, I have heard two songs off of it and just love them. I hope we can continue to expect great things from them for years to come.

they remind me of architecture in helsinki and black kids mixed with the postal service, with a pinch of MGMT.
