I'm sure someone here must have seen the YCPTSWC tape on ebay last week. Well, I'm the one that stole it at a mere $19.50! I'm really surprised no one was bidding... I stayed up til 3 in the morning to be sure I won it, haha.
The seller sent a message saying he was going to throw in another tape he had, but he didn't say what. When the package came today, I pretty much lost it when I saw it was the envelope sessions cassette! Two of the rarest DCFC related items for next to nothing...
These are infact originals, not copies. First impression is that they're pretty "crude". The inserts are hand-cut printer paper, and there's just a plain white label on each cassette with the band name penciled on. One says "ATQ" and the other says "DC ~ FC".
The tracks are also pretty raw recording-wise, but they play beautifully. Very good purchase
that's incredible. i have the chords cassette as well, and i wasn't sure if the label was put on by the customer or by the band/cassette-maker-people haha. mine has the dc (lightningbolt) fc like "AC/DC is written. a label like that was on my MYA to so i assumed it was original... are you going to play the tape? i dont remember which one, but one of them was played "only once or twice" and the other one's listing didn't specify... i was gonna keep it away from the cassette player, (i bought mya and chords within a few months of each other a little over a year ago, i believe). i realized it was pointless, b/c they were cost quite high $$ haha and it wasn't like i was ever going to resell them...and that wouldn't matter SO much anyways b/c they weren't in plastic or anyways....so i went for it. it. was. AWESOME. it feels so cool to put in an original dcfc thing like a record or casette or old cd etc...
i'm jealous of how you made out, though. very jealous lol

I've played Chords twice and ATQ once... can't say I'm a huge fan of ATQ, but it's still damn cool. I don't plan on playing them much more though. They're going to get recorded into Sound Forge and saved in an uncompressed format (wav). Then I'll split those into separate tracks and save them in .ogg and .mp3 formats for listening.
The listing for my Chords tape also said "played a couple times", so I would like to keep it that way. No need to ruin the original when I can save it electronically.
boombox250, or anyone else, do you have pictures of your tape(s)? It would be cool to compare them...
As promised, pictures. Sorry on the insert pictures, but I had to use the case to help hold them flat.
It ended up going for $26.50. I too didn't bid... I wanted to bid on the Your Bruise and Prove records, but I ended up getting back home after the auctions had already ended. Someone got a steal on those; $27 for Your Bruise and $21 for Prove!
