yes yes y'all
was purusin' the net early and found PopMatters did this really really long discussion with Gibbard, talking about having the #1 album and where his lyrics come from and whatnot. Anywho, give a read!! http://www.popmatters.com/pm/features/article/59105/meg...ew-with-ben-gibbard/ http://www.popmatters.com/pm/features/article/59105/meg...ew-with-ben-gibbard/ rawk. |

thanks for the link, interesting read
but the interviewer called the song 'no sunshine' instead of 'no sunlight' haha |

You know I think in hindsight, I think I could’ve been a little more civil to people—who will go nameless—who used to be in the band ... and I won’t say who, but I think we ganged up on somebody one time that was really unfortunate, but you’re young and you do dumb shit and you hopefully learn from your actions and become more of an adult, ya know?
You don’t mope over it: you just move on. Yeah, and I think this person in question ... we’ve come to terms with each other and have kind of moved on. I'm guessing this is about Schorr. |

You've got a 50/50 shot of being right... A sophism of madness... |

yup, it might be him

... 33 % more likely. Dunno if anyone here ever got to see them with Jason Larsen. |

What about Nathan?

Nathan, J. Larsen and Schorr = 3 drummers. I don't know... Nathan was with them for a long while and did an excellent job live.
From what i've heard in the bootleg department Schorr's live drumming was often a bit less ... dependable? |

Interesting interview. The guy who gave it needs to make his questions shorter and less fanboyish.

yea i doubt ben could be talking about nathan... aren't nathan and chris walla still close friends?

I feel like a total ass. I've been closely following this band for something like four or five years now, collected every rare scrap of audio I could find, read everything I could, and have never before heard of Jason Larsen. A sophism of madness... |

Ha me either.

It's also really hard to find any info on him and he only played one or two tours:
http://dcfc-tour.net/dcfc99.htm ^ That's what made me aware of his existence. He filled in during the pre-Facts tours of '99 after Nathan left. Schorr started drumming right before the release of Facts: http://dcfc-tour.net/000211.htm ... he could be the one ben's talking about. There's no info on him anywhere, they seemed to get rid of him really fast and his name is never mentioned in interviews or articles. I also found this kinda peculiar: http://boards.atlanticrecords.com/artists/deathcabforcu...9109669/m/7941084411 This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kasper, |

hmmmm....that is really weird. i wonder if it's a legality issue and that's why he's never mentioned...? Like he's jumped through certain hoops to make sure his name is never affiliated with the band for whatever reason....*shrugs*
Enjoy it. Embrace it. Discard it--And Proceed. |
