I never saw him preform before this year, but I know what your talking about. I believe though that he just more calm and collected while on stage, just because he's not jumping around or moving a lot doesn't mean he's not into it. He could be very focused. In fact he is one of my favorite members to watch because he his changing insterments so much and easily moves from one thing to another.

What I've noticed the last two times I went is not that he isn't into performing, but that he's not really into paying any attention to the crowd lately. He still seems to really enjoy playing, but seems to pretend there is no audience until he does his "be kind to each other" thing at the very end. But I don't know. I still loved watching him.
From what I've noticed seeing them, he seems pretty occupied with getting the sound right (probably in his monitors). He's always giving little up and down motions to the sound guys.

yup yup, he was like that in london, also at the london gig he was laughing and smiling a lot, so he was enjoying it. i dont know though, the new album and the recent gigs dont seem to be as emotionally intense as they used to be.

I haven't seen them this tour but the stuff walla does on guitar is pretty intense sometimes, messing with delay live takes a lot of skill or it'll go nuts.
"He's pretty jealous of ben to be fair."
I'm sure you based that comment off of your personal experience hanging out with death cab right purp?......
That's interesting because last night, at the San Diego show, he seemed to be the only one enjoying himself. I think he's still into, but in a different way than he used to be. I think it's more musical--I too have noticed that he doesn't make eye contact with the crowd like he used to.

I went to the Santa Barbara show last night and he seemed incredibly out of it.. I think he actually missed some of his parts. And he looked lost for more than half of the show, sometimes just standing with his arms at his sides and the guitar hanging there.
One point Ben turned to him and said, "That's a guitar you're holding, Chris."
It was still a great performance.. But I wonder if it's just the intense touring that they're doing or what.. But Chris seems like he just isn't into it.
I doubt it has anything to do with sound. I noticed since before the record came out that he was notably absent from most pr events. Nick tagged along to the ones that i have witnessed.
Yah I'd say this will be their last album. It seems like benny g is having a bit of a mid life emo crisis and walla just doesn't really like being in the band any more.
-------- What's new in this update: 1. Upgraded lightning bolt range + accuracy 2. Removed the annoying son of god (was lazy) 3. Power to decide who will be message board moderator 4. Increased hearing ability (can now hear thoughts) 5. Slightly more kick-ass

At Red Rocks he seemed into it. He was constantly watching the crowd and looking at the rocks. He definitely isn't as mobile as he was the last time I saw him though.

wow that is an extreme take on things! I believe that then band is closer than ever and are at least going to put out another record if not more. There have been many interviews saying that they are closer then ever, they have already been on the brink of breaking up, but now they are better for it. Also when I have seen them live they all look happy and are smiling to each other while on stage, they are enjoying what they are doing. As far as chris goes I got to meet him afterwards and believe me he is far from leaving the band, he couldn't have been having more fun with the fans that stayed after to meet them.
