So, this is the thread where everyone can share what he expects the new album will be. That could be about lyrics, sound quality, songs he has heard live, etc... As far as i'm concerned, i'm really obsessed about cd's length ; i expect this one will last over 50 minutes, with, let's say...2 songs as long as Transatlanticism, with apotheosis (is this correct?) of strings and drums at the end. So, a little more orchestral, without being emphatic. Hmmm, perhaps i need therapy...or not Wink .

i want this album, like you, to be longer than the other 4. i liked the flow of transatlanticism (album) how the beggining and end of many of the songs were the same (the new year/lightness and tiny vessels/transatlanticism as examples). so i'd like plans to have that sense of flow to it. transatlanticism had a recurring theme, and i hope this album will be like that too...failed plans

I have promises to keep and miles to go before i sleep

I think everybody knows that the new album will be similar to “Transatlanticism“. So I guess the sound quality will be nearly the same, maybe a little bit improved. But I’m on the rack for the lyrics. I read in an article (posted on this board) that Ben wrote "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" for the new album, which is the best song in the history of songwriting. Better than any song of Bob Dylan and all of the great songwriters the world has or had. But at least I think “Plans” will be a great album.

I think I'll love it no matter what, unless it is completely silence, animal noises, or the vocals are too hard to hear, or whatever other kind of horrible misfortune you can imagine but which will never happen.

So excited!

I agree though. I hope it's long. I also hope none of the sounds sound like others they've done.

I guess I'm saying the same as you guys, but I liked the flow of Transatlanticism. Each song led into the next one nicely. I hope this album is like their old stuff because a lot of bands putting out new cds now are starting to sound like everyone else. Man am I excited though! I'm sure whatever they put out will be a masterpiece.

I'm really excited about a few things that this record promises:

-More expansive tracks (a la "Transatlanticis")
-Opening track featuring an ORGAN!
-The return of electronica and strings (in "Different Names For The Same Thing").
-Dark themes that deal with death.
-Judging from the lyrics so far, this could be the most touching and moving record to date.
-Variation (from electronica to expanisve to acoustic to piano-driven, etc.)
-Death Cab has never put out a bad album.

I have rush of blood to the head. And I like it. But at a lot of points, coldplay just sounds so monotonous.
