I wouldn't say Facts is my favorite, but it might just trump the 'headphone music' category. I'm a more inclined to like their more pop stuff, which is probably the main reason Facts isnt my favorite.
Id say Transatlanticism is my favorite, it really has no 2 songs alike I find.

I would agree that Facts has a great continuity, so to speak. As a concept album, even the music keeps the whole thing going, it really WAS meant to be together.

What he means is that Facts is a fantastic album that most fans adore. He has no problem with you loving Trans, as most of us love that album too. But saying that Facts is the worst is kind of blasphemous around here.

I'll admit when I first listened to Facts, I was so used to their other stuff I didn't care for it. But a couple more listens and it's highlights quickly dawned on me, and now I can't stop listening to some of the songs; Title Track, Company Calls, 405, Scientist Studies.

I think if we're talking about the extended photo album, with 20th century towers, stability, gridlock caravans, and all is full of love, then we're talking some serious contention for #2, but if you listen to the photo album it's not very fluid. You'll find yourself skipping a track somewhere because there are different moods to the songs.

And really? you mention coney island over we laugh indoors?

Oh come on, we laugh indoors is the best track on there, by far.

For me there's nothing to seperate my so called ""Holy Trinity" from each other. Perfect songs throughout. Incidentally, I view Plans as The Father, Transatlanticism is The Son and Photo Album is The Holy Ghost.

The Photo Album is a rubbish name though when you think about it, especially after SAA and WHTFAWVY.

Still, I can't think of any band other than The Clash (1st album, Give 'Em Enough Rope and London Calling) who have knocked out three successive albums of such perfection.

Fave track on Photo Album is A Steadier Footing.

Wish they would open shows with Ben playing it solo, as the other band members come on stage and start to build up a little feedback, before launching into We Laugh Indoors.

47 years old and still fantasising about gigs. Jesus!

And the hardest part is yet to come

My favorite Photo Album song has to be Blacking Out the Friction, and it's closely followed by We Laugh Indoors. And your gig idea sounds awesome, btw.

Yeah. Let's all hope that someone connected with the band reads my suggestion and they announce a UK Winter Tour to try it out!

Yes I agree. Very cool.

Actually, can Facts be the greatest, when you consider that the version of 405 on Forbidden Love is better than the version on Facts?

No. I'm undecided actually. I tend to really hammer Photo Album, then a random song from Plans or Trans comes on our kitchen hi-fi, and I realise that they are equally great too.

My reason for naming them The Holy Trinity is simply because they have such a weight of quality which carries through all three albums. As I said in my original post, only The Clash etc.......

I also think they have a seasonal feel to them. Photo Album - Autumn/Winter so currently very relevant.
Plans - Summer.
Transatlanticism - Not entirely sure.

I've tried on many occasions to make up a playlist on my Ipod combining the best of the three, but I can't bring myself to leave anything out.
