Does this one have the cut off at the end? It's already been posted.

Yep this is just the NPR version, but it fades our rather than explodes in your ears (so it's a better version)

The NPR version fades out and the presenters talk over it as it ends, so the person who originally ripped it just played it till the moment they started talking. So yeah it's just that one recording of the NPR version that ends like that

"10. Pity and Fear
Unquestionably the weak link of the album because the band attempt to change it too much. It begins with tribal drumming, then guitar strokes and finally the vocals lead the way. The introduction of the traditional drumming as well makes it feel messy and un-patterned. The most distinguishing feature about the song is the way it closes. A loud twang out of nowhere cuts the track off suddenly and gives way to the gentle strumming of the album closer next."

From one of the reviews. I put the important part in bold.

I don't think that's what we have. I can't believe it would end like that, at least not with that loud crash at the end. A "loud twang" I think would sound different.

Yeah, none of the other songs on NPR cut off like that except Pity and Fear. Along with that review, I'm convinced that's the way it really closes.

that ending is so annoying / too loud / sudden & unexpected.

Yep. But I'm thinking the beginning of The Ice is Getting Thinner will make it a little more meaningful.

I don't know, I really like the song. It grew on me, for sure.
