I travelled from Manchester, UK to London to see them this spring. I went alone which was weird. I'm also planning on seeing them in Sheffield (not too far) and Nottingham (further) this winter. I also saw them in Manchester, an amazing gig in which they played Company Calls and Company Calls Epilogue (which made my summer).

As America is like 737558303580853 times bigger than England I'd like to see how far YOU have travelled to see Ben and the gang smah out their unique brand of indie-pop beauty to sweaty crowds of fans (such as yourself).

I'm new btw, and I'm called Jim. So be nice Smiler

P.S. London is like 200 miles from rainy Manchester.

It's your funeral and it's fantastic.

Hello, Jim. Welcome!
I haven't travelled too far. From Eugene to Portland (about 2 hours) to see the band twice and Ben once. Oh and once to Bend, which was about 2.5 hours. I'm sure others have travelled much farther (further?).
If they ever play Western Washington University again, I think it'd be fun to take a road trip (about 6 hours) since I almost went to school there.

Hi Jim, good to have another Manc here.

I also did the Manchester to London trip for the Camden show (I'm looking at Belfast for November). However, these are the bigger trips I have taken to see DCFC:

Manchester - Portland 7666 km (Ben solo 2007)
Manchester - Seattle 7470 km (2003)
Manchester - Madrid 1457 km (2002)
Manchester - Berlin 1050km (Ben solo 2005)
Manchester - Berlin 1050km (DCFC 2006)
Manchester - Paris 608km (2006)
Scarborough- London 385 km (2001)

Just did a quick calculation and it turns out that my total travel between DCFC, Ben solo shows and Postal Service is 25,894 miles in 7 years.

Now I need to work out how to off set my carbon footprint.

Roughly 2 hours... usually to Philly or DC. Although I'd see em in NYC if they played on a day I could go.

Hey Mike

I thought about travelling to the Edinburgh gig but it's just too far for me. You've collected some serious air miles seeing Death Cab, haven't you?

Travelling to Seattle to see the band sounds awesome man. I'm impressed Smiler

Hey Jim, yes that was great, in 2003 it was a bit of a shock to see how big they were in the US compared to the small shows they were playing in the UK. I remember going to the back of the balcony at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland to take in the view of the crowd.

Mrs Mc says it's ridiculous to go to Belfast, so it's either Nottingham or Sheffield (or both) in November. Let me know if you want to road trip.

Since Mike McC looks like he burnt the most carbon seeing the guys (awesome Mike, love the dedication), I just wonder who's travelled the shortest distance.

Last UK tour, I went to the Sheffield gig, and the distance covered was less than a mile. I actually walked there of course, then walked back to my office to sleep for the night. Total journey time about 20 minutes altogether!

And the hardest part is yet to come

You probably have everyone beat as far as close distance goes haha.

As for me, I went to Nagoya from Toyama-- it's not too bad, maybe 200km or so. There was one time where I did a choir performance literally right across the street from where death cab was playing, and the performances overlapped perfectly. That was a bummer.
