Does the ending on Pitty & Fear (track #10) seem really sudden to you?
I got the album at Starbucks today and thought it was broken because of the ending to that track. So I traded it in for a new one, but the ending is the same on the new album.
Also, the track times in at 4:21 on my album. & in iTunes. Sooo, it seems like the ending hasn't been cut off (time wise atleast).
it really ends like that, bummer, always get a jolt when I listen to the whole album and reach the end of that track haha.
I think they did this because of the guitar riff at the end is kind of repetitive and leave a buzz in your head and they want the listener to be awake for the next track, because the lyrics and song is amazing haha, just speculating

Nick said that the tape broke and they liked the way it sounded and kept it. I don't care much though, it's the only song on the new album I don't listen to. I don't know why they'd think that sounded good though.

I dig the track actually. The ending is what it is. Not quite sure how I feel about it, though I am not as opposed as some people seem to be. It has some artistic significance to the album, only I am not sure what. Perhaps just to set up the next song as even more sparse, or just to get your attention for it or something.
By the way, the title is actually "Pity and Fear."

It's the ol' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" ending. The difference is that Lennon picked where Emerick should cut the tape, whereas here the tape decided to end itself.
