Long Division + We Laugh Indoors
I know that's not on Plans but they're kind of alike. This message has been edited. Last edited by: BIG TUNA, I wish the world was flat like the old days. |

for some reason The Ice is Getting Thinner reminds me of Your Bruise
|

ha it doesn't have to be on plans, any other death cab song.
and i can see no sunlight=crooked teeth. ice is getting thinner=lack of color maybe? and i think it's safe to say you really can't compare you can do better than me to any other death cab song.... |

the writing on You Can Do Better Than Me and the way the drums play just heavy lead-in reminds me of Steadier Footing... not to mention how short and sweet both songs are

Long Division : Company Calls
Except the former is much catchier. ____________________________________________________________ If it turns out that there is a God, I don't think that he's evil. But the worst that you can say about him is that basically he's an underachiever. |

bixby- marching bands of manhattan except a better version
i will posses your heart- nothing hahah no sunlight- sound of settling cath- i was a kaleidoscope talking bird- a bunch of parts of different songs: passenger seat, lightness you can do better than me- nothing i think this song is actually their biggest departure grapevine fires-slightly brothers on a hotel bed your new twin sized bed- expo 86 long division- we laugh indoors and a liitttlllee bit of blacking out the friction pity and fear- we looked like giants, the ending kinda reminds me of the ending of different names for the same thing the ice is getting thinner- little fury bugs |

"Bixby Canyon Bridge" is "Marching Bands of Manhattan" with the breakdown of "We Laugh Indoors" tossed in about halfway through.
"I Will Possess Your Heart" is the lovechild of "Summer Skin" and "President of What?," with "Flustered/Hey Tomcat!" as a babysitter. "No Sunlight" is the ugly duckling of the family that includes "Crooked Teeth" and "The Sound of Settling." "Cath..." is the result of an orgy involving the acoustic version of "Title and Registration" hopped up on 'roids, "Company Calls," and "Your Bruise." "Talking Bird" is "Stable Song" and "Passenger Seat" with splashes of "Blacking Out the Friction," and the Jesus and Mary Chain practicing a similar song in the next room over. "You Can Do Better Than Me" is an adopted child, and actually is from the same family as the songs on the Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds." "Grapevine Fires" is a lot of Chris Walla's "Sing Again" and a little bit of something else -- perhaps "We Looked Like Giants"? "Your New Twin-Sized Bed" is from the same family as "Expo '86." "Long Division" is the lovechild of "The New Year" on Prozac and "Crooked Teeth." "Pity and Fear" is an Indian percussion group's cover of Karla Devito's "We Are Not Alone" (from The Breakfast Club) hanging out with the lovechild of "Different Names for the Same Thing" and "That's Incentive." "The Ice is Getting Thinner" is the lovechild of "20th Century Towers" and "Stability," after hanging around with "Transatlanticism" once in a while, and with Rilo Kiley's early albums as a babysitter. A sophism of madness... |

That might be the greatest post ever. Nice work, Groovitude.
I had the same "This has escaped from Pet Sounds!" thought on hearing You Can Do Better Than Me. Which is one of the highest compliments you could ever pay a song, really. |
