Of course its about the band. I'm asking any members of the band the question, and if anyone else has anything to say about it, then they can post their comments.
'Fraid no one from the band reads/posts on the forum as far as I know... As for guesswork, no religious motifs in any of their songs spring to mind. I would guess that 2 are atheist/agnostics, 1 believes in 'something' but doesn't know what, and 1 'believes' by force of family habit.
I think "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" is about the clearest insight into Ben's religious beliefs that you can get from his lyrics. It's pretty obvious that he rejects the notions of heaven and hell in favor of love, and I remember him talking (on iTunes Originals, I think) about the uncertainty of what happens to us when we die ("The pope doesn't know any better than you or I.."). So I guess you'd call him very agnostic, and certainly not eager to associate with the Catholic Church or any other organized religious group. I feel pretty much the same way. Organized religion just doesn't make a whole lot of sense, especially not Catholicism. If you can't tell, I was subject to a similar Catholic upbringing.

i saw them play in orlando abot 2 years ago, and he had a conversation with himself about two guys who always argue about "how big their cocks are". idk if thats a very religious thing to talk about. unless hes referring to chickens
