That's all well and good and inspirational and whatnot, but what good will come of it? BJ will surely just return under another screen name. This board needs some function that prevents you from registering under multiple names, but I don't know if that is possible or feasible.

True. Even though it was a little annoying, the old system should be put back in place. You should have to be accepted or whatever, to stop spammers/trolls/idiots from coming in here.

When I tried to join here, it took me a few months to even be accepted. Obviously, I don't think it should take that long, but there should be some kind of process like that.

^ The problem is that this board interface is really old fashioned and just not working. Like dianna said she couldn't effectively ban people without an extra Admin's approval, and he's never here. The permission thing is downright stupid as well. (Atlantic probably wont allow it as all their message boards use this lame-o "eve community" software but,) we need something new where the elected moderators are able to choose their powers and do stuff such as IP ban (the internet adress of the user is banned and therefore new usernames wont be effective) and being able to manage people's user profiles and upgrade users to moderators etc. = true admin powers. Otherwise you really have no control over the boards.

YES.

It is pretty stupid. Do mods here really have any power? I mean, the most I see is deletion of threads, making stickies, deleting posts, etc.

Most if not all other legitimate message boards give moderators power to ban, IP ban, manage profiles, and all that stuff. I don't see a reason as to why moderators here don't have those powers.

I think the mods should have more powers such as IP banning and if possible account suspensions for when people are out of line consistently, but not to the point of banning. The main thing is someone with the time to be on here and watch over what's happening, that's all it really takes. Some organization would be nice too, like maybe having an archive section for posts from like 2005 about the o.c....like on the pre-atlantic death cab boards.

ISP ban? ban of host names?? email ban? or the moderator could just make it a daily item on his check list to ban the purp.

If purp acted like a normal person he wouldn't need to be banned, same with BJ, they just come on here to cause shit because they have nothing better going for them.
