"Stability"
"20th Century Towers"
"Coney Island"
"Line of Best Fit"
"Steadier Footing"

And I don't think The Photo Album gets the credit it deserves. I think when people, especially on here, discuss THE album Facts and Trans always come up. But think of all the classics on Photo Album. I mean I think front to back it's just as strong as those two. Also, I think "Debate Exposes Doubt" gets more recognition then you guys think: that's the favorite song of alot of people, including me.

Stability and Line of Best Fit are epic. Like.. the way they both buildup and have that "explosion" then wind down. Great mentions. I always get lost in the instrumental part of Stability. Great background music to a day dream.

As for Steadier Footing, the only things I like about that song are the guitar line at the end and the lyrics. Otherwise it's just kind of boring.

But I agree with your statement about Lightness. I love that song. One of my favorites on Trans. actually.

Hmm, I recently listened to Transatlanticism again, and I did a double take on Lightness. So good.

I have always enjoyed lightness, it was one of my favorite songs from the start. I think I am a sucker for songs with a simple instrumental part and just let the voice and lyrics take over.

I also 100% agree with State Street Residential and Debate Exposes Doubt are underrated! I would always skip through those songs at first when listening to death cab, but when I seriously listened to both of the it was amazing! Moments like that when songs like those make me fall in love with them all over again Smiler

I think a lot of the photo album is pretty under rated tbh.

Another fav of mine is champagne from a paper cup and also the cover of the smiths this charming man on you can play these songs with chords.

I agree with the comments, in fact The Photo Album is probably my favourite album over all.

Lightness is definitely an overlooked song, such a great piece. As well as Steadier Footing and Coney Island for sure. I still love the groove of We Laugh Indoors and always will. I know a lot of [ignorant] people who are bored by the "i loved you guinevere" part and write it off as a samey sounding song all the way through. But it's genuinely one of my favourites. Subtlety is key for me...in everything.

EDIT: Almost forgot, That's Incentive too. I love that song.

Yeah Coney Island is very overlooked,
& it's a pretty amazing song. Especially the instrumentation like the drumb beat, and the piano playing.

Oh man I wish they'd play that song live.

I wish the world was flat like the old days.

Technicolor Girls.

This is actually one of my favorite death cab songs. Halfway through when the drums kick in...soo perfect.

I think Marching Bands of Manhattan is overlooked. Lyrically, one of the most beautiful songs. I also think Steadier Footing, and I Was a Kaleidoscope are overlooked.

I don't think people appreciate I will follow you into the dark enough, it's like it's just overlooked.

^ I think you've got a very valid point there. Because it's so overplayed people tend to just be sick of it. I rarely listen to it myself, but when i do put it on from time to time it always strikes me how fantastic a piece of songwriting craftsmanship it really is. It's made of the stuff that makes evergreens, really... it's quite a feat to make a song with such a broad appeal that can be appreciated on a artistic level as well, all with a simple verse and chorus structure, one guitar and one voice. It's just a great song at its core.

From the youtube clips I've seen of that song the crowd knows and loves that song better than any of the other death cab songs combined.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that James was being sarcastic.
