Death Cab popped up in a time in my life when I was way into metal/hardcore. They were sort of my escape from that genre--it's hard to fall asleep to Converge sometimes.
I bought the Postal Service CD without even knowing that they had anything to do with Death Cab. After one listen I was hooked, and needed to hear more of this guy singing. I talked to a friend of mine who was a semi-Death Cab fan and he said to pick up Transatlanticism--it was the only CD he had. Well I followed his advice and couldn't be happier that I did. Life changing music for real.

it would have been a long time ago but not until about 6 months ago did they start climbing into the fav band list (and are now #1) i came home late partying one night and crashed into my bed decided to watch some tv (because i can never get to sleep) i flicked onto some music channel and they were playing random songs (not that pop shit u hear countless times in a row during your day) they played IWFYITD i really liked it and was quite taken by the clip it really became LOVE when i herd transatlanticism (the track) i was installing struck by it and managed to get every album so far i am very pleased with narrow stairs it really did not dissopoint (and i had some pretty high expectations)

I think I heard the postal service in my friend's car all the time and I guess he liked them so he bought trans when it came out. So I would basically hear that in his car about every or every other day. I didn't actually buy any death cab stuff until plans came out, though since I got to basically freeload every day haha.

Yeah I didn't get into Death Cab until early 2005, which was a good time to do so since it was a pivotal moment in the band's history.... And got a new album soon after I had listened and loved all of their other albums. I think oddly "For What Reason" was the song that really got my interest. I'm not sure, but I remember listening to it and thinking "wow, I could really get more into these guys, this isn't even one of their popular hits..." I credit Death Cab for getting me to look at music more outside the mainstream. So So SO happy for that.

I got into em when my sister convinced me to buy a DCfC shirt because it looked awesome (burning brown leaf if you care). I wore it around a lot to the point where I was like "Hmm... I wear their shirt, haven't heard any of their music besides Soul Meets Body.. maybe I should check em out" (I know, I was a huge poser). So I downloaded a few songs.. Technicolor Girls, Debate Exposes Doubt, and a few other small ones and got into em. First came Trans, then Photo Album, Plans, Facts, then Airplanes and Chords at the same time last Xmas, then my last birthday I got the EPs. Most recently, just picked up Narrow Stairs. So I've been into em since 2005ish. ---------------------------

wow dude I'd say you were a hardcore poser to fucking wear their shirt having heard only one song, and that one being the single... haha at least you've heard them now... i guess i hope no one tried to have an in depth conversation about them with you! like, "i love the middle section of [we have the facts track] where the drums do that [such and such effect]" and you would just have to nod and be like, yeah totally. or else confess your poser=dom
