1. Bixby Canyon Bridge I descended a dusty gravel ridge Beneath the Bixby Canyon Bridge Until I eventually arrived At the place where your soul had died Barefoot in the shallow creek I grab some stones from underneath And waited for you to speak to me In the silence it became so very clear That you had long ago disappeared And I cursed myself for being surprised That this didn't play like it did in my mind All the way from San Francisco As I chased the end of your rope 'Cause I've still got miles to go And I want to know my fate If I keep up this way And it's hard to want to stay Away When everyone you meet They all seem to be asleep And you wonder if you're missing your dream You can't see your dream You can't see your dream You just can't see your dream A dream And then it started getting dark And I trudged back to where the car was parked No closer to any kind of truth As I must assume was the case with you This message has been edited. 2. I Will Possess Your Heart
How I wish you could see the potential The potential of you and me It's like a book elegantly bound but In a language you can't read just yet You gotta spend some time love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart You gotta spend some time love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart There are days when outside your window I see my reflection as I slowly pass And I long for this mirrored perspective When we'll be lovers, lovers at last You gotta spend some time love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart You gotta spend some time love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart I will possess your heart I will possess your heart You reject my advances and desperate pleas I won't let you let me down so easily So easily You gotta spend some time love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart You gotta spend some time love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart You gotta spend some time love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart I will possess your heart I will possess your heart This message has been edited. 3. No Sunlight
When I was young Lying in the grass I felt so safe In the warming bath Of sunlight Of sunlight Vast open sky Could do no harm Like an embrace From mother's arms In sunlight In sunlight In sunlight In sunlight With every year That came to pass More clouds appeared 'Til the sky went black, and there was No sunlight No sunlight And there was No sunlight No sunlight Anymore And it disappeared at the same speed As the idealistic things I believed The optimist died inside of me No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight And it disappeared at the same speed As the idealistic things I believed The optimist died inside of me No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight No sunlight Anymore This message has been edited. 4. Cath...
Cath, she stands With a well intentioned man But she can't relax With his hand on the small of her back And as the flash bulbs burst She holds a smile Like someone would hold A crying child And soon everybody will ask What became of you 'Cause your heart was dying fast And you didn't know what to do Cath, it seems That you live in someone else's dream In a hand-me-down wedding dress With the things that could of been All repressed But you said your vows And you closed the door On so many men Who would of loved you more And soon everybody will ask What became of you 'Cause your heart was dying fast And you didn't know what to do The whispers that it won't last Run up and down the pews But if their hearts were dying that fast They have done the same as you And I'd of done the same as you This message has been edited. 5. Talking Bird
Oh, my talking bird Though you know so few words They're on infinite repeat Like your brain can't keep up with your beak And you're kept in an open cage So you're free to leave or stay And sometimes you get confused Like there is a hint that I'm trying to give you And the longer you think The less you know what to do It's hard to see your way out When you live in a house in a house 'Cause you don't realize That the windows were open the whole time But oh, my talking bird Though your feathers are tattered and furled I'll love you all your days 'Til the breath leaves your delicate frame It's all here for you As long as you choose to stay It's all here for you As long as you don't fly away This message has been edited. 6. You Can Do Better Than Me
I'm starting to feel We stay together Out of fear Of dying alone I've been slipping through the years And my old clothes don't fit like They once did So they hang like ghosts Of the people I've been But it's like my heart can't be tamed And I fall in love everyday And I feel like a fool I have to face the truth That no one could ever look at me Like you do Like I'm something worth Holding to But it's times I think of leaving But it's something I'll never do 'Cause you can do better than me But I can't do better than you You can do better than me But I can't do better than you This message has been edited. 7. Grapevine Fires
When the wind picked up the fire spread And the grapevines seemed left for dead And the Northern sky looked like the end of days The end of days The wake-up call to a rented room Sounded like an alarm of impending doom To warn us it's only a matter of time Before we all burn Before we all burn Before we all burn Before we all burn We bought some wine and some paper cups Near your daughters school when we picked her up And drove to a cemetery on a hill On a hill And we watched the plumes paint the sky gray But she laughed and danced through the field of graves And there I knew it would be alright That everything would be alright Would be alright Would be alright Would be alright And the news reports on the radio Said it was getting worse As the ocean air fanned the flames But I couldn't think Of anywhere I would of rather been To watch it all burn away To burn away And the firemen worked in double shifts With prayers for rain on their lips And they knew it was only a matter of time This message has been edited. 8. Your New Twin Sized Bed
You look so defeated lying there In your new twin sized bed With a single pillow Underneath your single head I guess you decided that that old queen Was more space than you would need And now it's in the alley behind your apartment With a sign that says it's free And I hope you have more luck with this than me You used to think that someone Would come along And lay beside you in the space That they belong But the other side of the mattress And box spring stayed like new And what's the point of holding onto What never gets used? Other than a sick desire for self-abuse And I try not to worry But you've got me terrified It's like you're in some kind of hurry To say goodbye To say goodbye To say goodbye You look so defeated lying there In your new twin sized bed You look so defeated lying there In your new twin sized bed This message has been edited. 9. Long Division
His head was a city With paper buildings And the echos that remain Of old friends and lovers With features bleeding Together in his brain Oh, oh, oh Once it starts it was harder to Tell them apart Oh, oh, oh And he was always distracted By the very mention Of an open door Oh, oh, oh 'Cause he had sworn not be What he'd been before To be A remain, remain, remain Remainder To be A remain, remain, remain Remainder The television Was snowing softly As she hunted for her keys She said she never envisioned Him the type of person Capable of such deceit Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh And then they carried on like Long division 'Cause it was clear with every page Oh, that they were Further away from the solution that Would play Without A remain, remain, remain Remainder Without A remain, remain, remain Remainder Without A remain, remain, remain Remainder Without A remain, remain, remain Remainder He had sworn not to be What he'd been before To be The remain, remain, remain Remainder Etc..... 10. Pity And Fear
I have such envy For the stranger lying next to me Who awakes in the night And slips out into the pre-dawn light With no words A clean escape No promises or messes made And chalks it all up To mistake, mistake, mistake And there are no tears Just pity and fear And a vast ravine Right in between A storm at sea The bow cracked And I was capsizing And I sunk below Where I swore I would never go If you can't stand in place You can't tell who is walking away From who remains Who stays, who stays, who stays And there are no tears Just pity and fear And a vast ravine Right in between 'Cause there are no tears Just pity and fear And I recall The push more than the fall The push more than the fall This message has been edited. 11. The Ice Is Getting Thinner
We're not the same, dear As we used to be The seasons have changed And so have we And there was little we could say And even less that we could do To stop the ice from getting thinner Under me and you We buried our love In a wintery grave A lump in the snow Was all that remained Though we stayed by its side As the days turned to weeks And the ice kept getting thinner With ever word that we'd speak And when the spring arrived We were taken by surprise When the flows under our feet Bled into the sea And nothing was left For you and me We're not the same, dear And it seems to me There's nowhere we can go With nothing underneath And it saddens me to say What we both knew was true That the ice was getting thinner Under me and you The ice was getting thinner Under me and you This message has been edited. Why do people who transcribe lyrics never use apostrophes properly/pay any attention to the grammar of the stuff they're transcribing? No offence weerez, but "When the picked up the fire spread"? C'mon! You know that's not the lyric.

Okay, I forgot the word "wind." Fixed it. I typed these up like at 1:30 last night. And use of apostrophes? Did I make a mistake? |
|||
|
It's "We're not the same, dear". No biggie.

Yeah, that was last song I did. Apostrophe's leave my brain past midnight. I'm going through right now to clarify any missed words, wrong words, apostrophe stuff, etc.
Thanks |
