Hi all,
I'm really wanting to go to a death cab concert late april or may with a friend and unfortunately the closest one within that timeframe is the one on Rhode Island, may 10th. Now bear in mind that we live in Kingston, Ontario so just going to the concert would involve a lot of money and crossing the border which is an unpredictable variable to say the least.
Given that, should we hold out for more tour dates to come up in Canada or closer in America? Are there likely to be in any in, for example, Toronto in may or late april? Does anyone know how the trends in tour date announcements go?

Thanks in advance people!

That isn't a very long drive at all. I live about 4 and half hours from the majority of concerts i go to. Kingston is only about 6 hours from R.I. so i would recommend going to the show. Look up the closest red roof in, usually they are only like 40 bucks a night. On a bonus note you can drive down the the city or go up to Boston. Anyways i would recommend going. I am sure they will be in Canada before the fall but this means you will see them twice. I would leave Kingston at 8am the day of the show. You have some time to get caught up at the border and even if you don't then you will be to the show early and may get a chance to meet the band.

Hey, thanks for the advice. I wouldn't be driving there, I'd take a coach, so maybe that changes things a bit? It's reassuring to know a distance like that is normal to go to a concert though.

Take a look at the shows section - looks like a show in Cleveland has been added. Wouldn't that be a lot closer?

they'll be here in the summer for sure.. unless you really want to see them by may.
unless they don't come here for a really long time again, but i doubt it.

Cleveland is a lot farther. You would have to go through niagra or windsor anyways. Coach maybe different. Make sure you have arrival time way before the show starts. I would even leave a day early, I never trust greyhound arriving on time.

Yeah Cleveland looks about equidistant on a map but there's a bunch of lakes in the way.

Good thinking kyle, I think we will probably leave the day before and stay somewhere the night, and then again the night of the concert.
(sigh, exeunt money)

ok what do people think of the boston show http://www.livenation.com/event/getEvent/eventId/321614 ($38) vs the providence show http://www.providencepiers.com/ ($20). Anyone have any inclination either way?
