Just got back from the show. Amazing. They played with such energy tonight. A lot of songs that I never was fond of live (Crooked Teeth, Movie Script Ending) were killer tonight.

Setlist:

The Employment Pages
Your Heart is an Empty Room
The New Year
Crooked Teeth
President of What?
No Sunlight
Summer Skin
Grapevine Fires
I Will Possess Your Heart
I Will Follow You into the Dark
Title and Registration
Little Bribes
Cath...
Fake Frowns
Long Division
The Sound of Settling
---
A Diamond and a Tether
A Movie Script Ending
Soul Meets Body
Transatlanticism

Employment Pages and Fake Frowns were the highlights IMO. I love hearing Facts songs I've never heard live before and the transition from Cath... to Fake Frowns was amazing.

Almost every song they played tonight felt new. They played with such emotion it was amazing. During Trans, Nick starting kicking his amp repeatedly he was so into it. The setlist may not look like the greatest on paper, but the show was absolutely fantastic.

When compared to the Berkeley show, the 7/11 audience got:
Marching Bands of Manhattan
We Laugh Indoors
My Mirror Speaks
What Sarah Said

While the 7/14 audience got:
The Employment Pages
Title and Registration
Fake Frowns
A Diamond and a Tether

Personally, I would have preferred the latter. Even the order is better, ending on The Sound of Settling rather than Soul Meets Body, and putting A Movie Script Ending in the encore instead of Long Division. Plus, I love The Employment Pages. Sounds like it was a great show. I'm curious about that Cath... to Fake Frowns transition. Hopefully a video of it will pop up on Youtube soon.

that's a pretty good setlist... i was just looking at some video's from the past few shows, no one's mentioned the new stage backdrop? all those monitors seems very un-DCfC...

Overall I dont think that the setlist was too good. I basically jizzed in my pants when they opened with Employment pages, but unfortunately that is the only one they played from facts. I really want to hear title track, mudville, and scientist studies live.

Transatlanticism was a sweet closer. Title and Registration and Gapevine were awesome. Fake Frowns was definitely not as good live as I would expect, but still good.

And! Don't forget to talk about when, just as diamond and a tether was starting, a lady hopped onto the stage, ran over the Ben, touched his shoulder, then ran off the stage with two security guards in hot pursuit. Then after the song Ben joked about her face when she realized how sweaty he was.

O yea. And the cello player in Ra Ra Riot is so fucking hot! Ra Ra Riot were good as well. Andrew Bird was good, but there is just something about him live that just doesn't fit....

And what was up with the guy who just sat next to Jason the entire night looking bored? I would've switched seats with him.
