No suprises here, but a great show none the less. Too bad the audience was pretty bad during Bazan's set, because he was fantastic. As for Rice, ehh...

So there were two incredibly rude people on the front balcony, talking during every set. Mostly about nothing, about myspace, about being hot, about all the cool-kid shows they've been to, etc. So when someone -not even with me- asks them to be quiet, it sets them off. Their little brains couldn't grasp the idea that people came to listen to the acoustic performances. I guess these are the type of people who talk during movies as well. When they noticed that I was trying to tape the show, they took it upon themselves to get louder and try and mess up my tape. They would yell (be quiet he's recording!!!) right into my ear. Hilarious...especially since Ben encourages recording. You would think that since they fans and bought tickets to the sold out show, they would be someone interested in the fact that a recording was being made? They seemed like scene-y frat kids anyway, only there because it was the place to me. It's funny though, I didn't want her to be quiet for my recording --my mics were hanging far away from them, they didn't pick up any of their mindless conversations. I just didn't want to hear them talking during the sets. (OMG so hungry, I want a cheesesteak!!!) |

Yeah it's pretty unbelievable that someone would spend $30 bucks to talk through a show. My friend recorded the show if yours comes out crappy.
Oh, and I guess you didn't notice this since you were up in the balcony, but they had mics set up on the corners of the stage facing the crowd. Maybe they were recording the crowd for a live release??? Let the rumors fly! |

At an acoustic performance, talking totally ruins it. They could have just went to one of the numerous bars on South St... I saw the mics on the sides of the stage, I wondered about an official release too. Did your friend's tape turn out well? Mine sounds pretty good so far. |

thats still a nice setlist, thats pretty close to the minneapolis one, i would have liked a few more new songs, or covers, but its still nice to hear the classics from death cab stripped down like that, I meen sure people on here complain that we played a bunch of stuff we already know, but really, most people go to a show to hear songs they know and sing along, it really is a good experience, Im one of the people however who would loved more new stuff than familiar stuff, but its still amazing to hear live in person,
and yea the talking was way out of control at the MN show too, especially for Jon and David... for a most part, they shut up for Ben Drive Well, Sleep Carefully |

I almost got in a fight a few years ago at a Death Cab show with some frat guy. He kept talking and then they started playing photobooth and I snapped and told him to shut the fuck up. Nothing happened though. I had a feeling more people would have been on my side than his in that particular situation. It always sucks when people come to shows, stand in the front, and talk. Whats the point? |

I went to see badly drawn boy a month ago and Adem was opening, the crowd would not shut up and he was by himself, it bugged me because he did a Beach Boys "god only knows" cover that was really neat. |
