Today today today! Who's going? How early are you showing up? I'll do my best to have videos, especially of new material, but I'm going to my friend's house after the show, so I won't be on the computer again until Sunday.

Aaaa, I'm so excited!!

EDIT: stuff from the show...

All I can say is you better get yourself back to the forums ASAP to describe the new songs.

Cave Singers are playing at CD World today to celebrate Record Store Day. I'm wondering if members of Death Cab will show up, but I don't think I can go.

just got back. Great show. First time seeing DCFC. Didnt know what to expect. They played quite a few songs from Narrow Stairs, and Ben played without his trademark glasses (or is that normal?). Crowd was pretty intense.

Played every song I wanted to hear except for maybe Tiny Vessels. The new songs were great, very rocking. Beautiful songs that perked my interest was a song talking about "we will burn, we will burn" or something along those lines. Another one near the end of the set, cant remember any lyrics, but it had a killer melody and guitar part. New songs were definitely a departure from Trans and Plans but as I said the songs do indeed sound very DCFC.

I had heard the new album lyrically and thematically focuses on growing up, restlessness and finding onesself, and tried to hear that for myself, but mabe it was because I was hearing the new ones for the first time, but couldnt pick up on much of that at all.

Death Cab has become one of my favorite bands, and has provided the soundtrack to my life for the past year and a half. They perfectly describe in Trans the college experience, and Plans describes that as well. The show only reaffirmed that. I dont plan on changing their status in my life any time soon.

I dont think they would say, and I would agree, they arent the best live band on the planet but they certainly played a wonderful show. cae Singers were awesome as well. Very MMJ esque.

Wanted them to play Tiny Vessels, but thats my only complaint.

One of my favorite bands of all time, two of my favorite albums of all time (trans and plans) and narrow stairs, by what Eugene heard, should be added my favorites list.

I am going through the whole finding onesself/becoming restless phase and if what we were told about the album by reviews was true, this album should focus heavily thematically and lyrically on that sort of thing. Nothing would please me more. But as I said, I couldnt pick up on any lyrics during the set that fit that description.

Second show of the tour, and they sound great.

Thanks for sharing all of that with us! I'm really glad you liked it. It's reassuring to hear all the new songs sound like death cab still.<3 We will burn we will burn was probably from Grapevine fires, which seems to be a favorite among the reviews I've read.

Can't wait for some youtube videos. Did you record anything, dear?

I'm hoping they pull out Marching Bands for most of the shows on this tour. I've always wanted to see it live. And yeah, why the hell aren't they uploading new stuff?

I still can't get over how great that Starcaster looks...

Marching bands was never really a favorite of mine on Plans. The lyrics are great but the song takes too long to get started. It's just kind of boring.

I am here to save the day/provide videos and a setlist. Except the sound quality is rather...crap. But it'll give you an idea. I'll post those in just a bit, after I've uploaded them to YouTube.

My friend and I were in the front row at the very right (facing the stage). It was a great show. Random things:

-Ben doesn't play the drum pads during T&R anymore. Jason does that part and Ben has a shaker thing.
-Very little banter. Ben talked about people in Bremerton using lighters instead of cell phones during ...Into the Dark, and asked us to as well. Chris thanked us (Eugene) for being better than Corvallis.
-...Into the Dark played during the middle of the set. At first I thought they were going to add more instruments because Nick was still onstage, but no such luck. That would have been fun.
-Longest encore I've had the chance to see them play.
-New songs sound fantastic and I'm even more excited about the new record.

I'll probably think of more to say later, but this is probably plenty for now.

Oh yeah, I'll definitely post links. I got all of the new ones excpet Bixby Canyon Bridge and IWPYH. I think I recorded T&R too because I thought they might start the encore with another new one.

Oh another thing I remembered: Ben had an Obama sticker on one of his guitars. (I'll also post a link to pictures)

Awesome, thanks Ashley. Do you remember any specifics about some of the new songs so we can get an idea?
