WTF are these?! So I just got an e-mail saying that there are going to be album playbacks at all these stores, one's local to me so i wanna go but if it's just going to be palying throough the speakers while people stand around that sounds pretty whack to me!

The idea is that you shop at the same time, I suppose, and the album keeps you there for longer.

Surely, surely given that so many shop assistants will have their hands on this CD on those days it'll leak by then. If not though you could make a lot of friends on the board by setting up a recorder near a speaker and uploading the result.

I find the album playback concept kind of silly.

===================================

I've packed a change of clothes and it's time to move on.

Dude this is totally fucked... First of all, who wants their first listen to the entire album to be in a record store full of people, who may or may not shut up while it is playing? Not me. And secondly, even if I did like the concept a little more (and admittedly getting to hear the album would be mighty tempting), only in the UK?! Double-U Tee Eff man!

Why not? It's nice that someone's throwing us a bone, we barely get anything compared to the US usually

its good that they are actually getting some promotion in the UK. its not like they are going to be here for a long time. they have an extensive US tour planned including festivals. in the UK they are only playing 3 dates as part of their european tour (+ 1 one off) and making only one festival appearance (lattitude is a pretty small festival as well, hardly glastonbury/leeds-reading or coachella sized). so dont complain americans.

This is the chance i never got to make a move, but we just talk about, the people we've met in the last 5 years and will we remember them in ten more...

Ah i'm not complaining. But none the less this album playback thing sounds super gay. It's the day before i see them live and if I wanted to ruin that show, going to listen to it in a shitty store with a bunch of dicks fucking each other in the ass while jerking over the mainstream charts this would be the way to do it.

I think they are all cool independent stores, so there should be little mainstream chart action.

My only regret is the lack of North West stores participating, as I will be visiting my local independent retailer on Monday to buy the single in all it's formats.
