Well I am a new member to this board, but I noticed that no one had put up a review of the providence concert so I thought I would do the honor since it was amazing. This was my first Death Cab concert and I will never be the same after it, they just blew me away.

Alright the concert was suppose to be outside, but do to a 100% chance of heavy rain that night they decided to move it into the hockey rink at Brown University, which was packed by the time the concert started. The opener, Amanda Plamar, was very good she sounded a lot like Regina Spektor and could play the crap out of her piano! She is part of a band which is apparently huge on the east coast, I had never heard of them before, but the crowd liked her a lot. She does a cover of "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" which they asked her not to do. So as a joke she claimed that most of her songs would be Death Cab for Cutie covers.

Any way by 7:15 Death Cab came on and the huge crowd loved them! I was right up front for the whole thing and most of the people around me knew all of there old songs and were singing a long the whole time, except for the new songs. Ben didn't talk that much but I didn't mind too so much. He did tell a story about how people in London really liked there mayonnaise. I guess putting mayonnaise on salads is where Ben draws the line. Also since there were people sitting in the penalty boxes of the arena he asked if they had done anything wrong to end up there.

But I was there for the music which was amazing! The set list followed the other set lists before only they changed 'For What Reason' back to 'Company Calls and 'Cath' back to 'Your New Twin Size Bed.' Also for the encore they now played six songs, they added Tiny Vessels before they played Transatlantism which people clapped between the transition and that pissed me off.

Also the audience was just great, they loved the whole thing and Death Cab just played off of that and kept there energy up the whole time. I also think that the encore was better then the beginning, the audience loved it and Death Cab seemed to have more energy then the start. Even though Death Cab is and always be my favorite band, I now love them even more if that is possible after this concert.

After it was officially all over people headed out pretty quickly, I had to stick around with my friends to wait for our ride...

Right before my friend came and hour later part of the band came out, Ben and Jason, they were in a hurry so I only got a quick picture with Ben, it was so amazing, a great end to a great concert!

Yeah it was my first ever Death Cab show and it was really great. Felt pretty ill and overhot thinking I wasn't going to enjoy the show as a result but as soon as they came on all such badness dissapeared. Also I am a brit so I felt like shouting something during his mayonnaise story but didn't because I guess that's kinda obnoxious... but then the story kinda tailed off so I think he would've appreciated the help. I kinda wanted them to play Cath and Title Track (though I'd come to accept they wouldn't play the latter) but you can't spend times like this worrying about such things. It was awesome all in all. Favourite song of the show was probably Bixby. When that song kicks in it's just an epic concert moment of epic proportions. I was quite sure a lot of people around me were singing along with the new songs, guess the leak has got around by now. Also we encountered two of the typical 'OC fans' who pushed through the crowd to where we were, went wild over Soul Meets Body then talked loudly over the entirety of transatlanticism about their disappointment at Death Cab not playing Summer Skin (I think they were expecting it as the concert closer...)

As a sidenote, having never been to a Death Cab concert before I was surprised by the number of very very young people there. Like, people who were so young they had their parents with them. My friend and I felt a bit self-conscious for a while there, standing in a crowd of 13-17 year olds while being the ripe old age of 20 and 21, but the older people turned up the place later

The crowd size was epic also (both Hilliary and Bill Clinton have spoken there before). I was expecting the rink to get maybe half full but it almost completely filled. Ben commented they were expecting a crowd half the size and I can imagine so considering it didn't even sell out on etix.

Anyway yes I will definitely go see them every chance I get. Envy you for getting a photo with Ben, bubbles, must've been awesome!

This was my first death cab concert, and i was completely blown away. Every song seemed so much for lively and just awesome live. This was certainly one of the best live performances of any band I've ever seen. I was in the 6th row back from the stage, and and view was amazing. This has to be the best $23 I ever spent. Such a cheap price for such an awesome concert. I guess they really didn't expect as many people to come as showed up. I loved the setlist to, I Will possess Your Heart sounds so great live- I can't wait for death cab to play another concert here!
