C'mon, kids. we all love our top-shelf bands, but as far as music, we all have humble beginnings. i mean, my first favorite rockin' band concert were warped tour headliners new found glory, 5 years ago, and i still hold sentiments to their self-titled LP as well as "from the screen to your stereo." but that's me.
anyways, i go to warped every year as a tradition, and to know where i came from as a listener. though i didn't enjoy as much bands as i used to, i thuroughly enjoyed mxpx, no use for a name, senses fail(guilty pleasure), and the reason for my season, thrice, who btw is hands down the best band on the bill, and i really hope people on this board will give a listen, you won't be disappointed. i wanna know who else went, or if anyone wants to share fond memories of this teenage past-time. who's up for a game of crossfire? |

I never went to any warped tour. The lowest I stooped was Family Values '97. Man did I love Korn and Bizkit, and that year Staind hit it big.
I realize this wasn't the point of the topic, I merely wanted to point out that at no time have I gone to a Warped Tour. ------------------------------ We're so sad when we're not trashed |

that's too bad. i've never been to the family values tour, i was never into the bands that were advertised to play. but i'm pretty sure warpeed tour isn't stooping below family values by any means.

I have never been to warped tour either, but it retrospect. I would have probably gone if the oppurtunity was offered.

I went to warped tour a very long time ago...I believe that was the year the Misfits and Jimmy Eat World were on the tour but didn't play San Antonio. I think the best parts were seeing AFI back when they were good and meeting The Ataris. Oh one last memory...I had this compilation cd from somewhere and I really liked it. While I was wondering around the park a guy handed me a flyer for a band called Sloth. They were the band on the compilation. I was so happy I got to see them, meet them and get an autographed cd even if they never made it big it was still fun.

I went this year only cause I semi knew a few bands who were playing.
It was fun though. Wakefest and scenefest are alot better though. __________________________ I saved Latin, what did you ever do? |

I went this year, overall it was alright. I'm not super immensed in that type of music, but I had heard of about 30 or so bands out of the 70+ that were there. I saw about 8 or so, and it was ok.
The thing about Warped Tour is that music doesn't translate extremely well live, atleast in my opinion. Either it was too loud, or a majority of the bands used bad equipment because you could barely hear them. Even bands that I had listened to beforehand and liked, sounded like crap at Warped. It's hard to get from stage to stage to see what you want. Alot of the people that go to this are the moshing types, and alot of the bands that perform on the tour provoke moshing. Moshing is fun for like 5-10 minutes, but after a little bit of it you just want to stand and listen to the music and that's pretty hard to do at most of the stages. Unless, you stand way in the back...but if you do you can't really see anything. I like it how it's the only tour where alot of the bands walk around where you can meet them and stuff, that's pretty cool. I think it's definately something you'd want to experience atleast once if you're into live music at all. |

being a pretty big "punk rock" fan, i've always wanted to go to the warped tour but they never came to my town, damnit! it sucks cuz i wish i could see bands like yellowcard, my chemical romance, fall out boy, NFG, etc.

this board is infested with indie fans, so when someone who appreciates yellowcard, mcr, fob, nfg comes here its a shock |
