Anyone know if the band is gonna hit the road again in further support of Plans, or is this the last of the tour? As long as the record's been out, it seemed like they didn't play as many shows as usual (and unfortunately, all of the Washington dates outside of Marymoor and the tiny Admiral theatre before the album came out were festivals (Bumbershoot, Sasquatch, Deck the Hall Ball).

or for that matter, is Ben going to tour to support his new record?

I think Coren's saying that Narrow Stairs is SO bad that he wants DC to just pretend they never released it and go back to touring plans.

This is pretty weird though because Ben doesn't have a new rec....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I see!

Hahaha wow I was out of it when I put that up. Narrow Stairs, not Plans (although I sure do like Plans better, that's true)

But yeah, any word on well, any of that?

Sorry, there are no upcoming shows.

However, after an OS tour they will definitely do another US/Canada tour before the next record drops (That is if there is going to be a next record [there shouldn't be one until at least the end of next year possbily later you would hope]).

Actually, it might be sooner than you think as they released an update on Facebook saying that a new song for their next album will be the first song on the Twilight: New Moon Soundtrack... Which hopefully means that there will be one good song on that movie's soundtrack.

A: One... But he'll take three months to do research on lightbulbs before he actually does it.

I was under the impression that the Vampire song was exclusively for the soundtrack, meaning that it would not appear on the next Death Cab album, and therefore is not an indicator of when to expect an album.

Yeh, I would have thought this new song came about when someone said "Hey, Death Cab, would you like a shit load of money for one song?"
DCFC: "Yeh, that'd be ace! What's the song have to be about?"
Someone: "Vampires"
DCFC: "Vampires?!"
Someone: "Yeh, I know 'ey, but... Yes... Vampires."
DCFC: "No, it's ok, we love vampires, AND money!"

Alternately, if Yourtomfoolery didn't just make up a whole bunch of crap, we can be expecting an album about a vampire relationship that goes horribly wrong!

Yeah, I went to the Facebook update I saw this on and you're right:
quote:
It was announced today that Death Cab for Cutie's contribution to the Twilight series' "New Moon" will be the first single from the soundtrack album. The song, "Meet Me On the Equinox" will premiere on September 13th at the MTV Video Music Awards.

In a phone interview with MTV News, Nick spoke about the song, Death Cab's connection the Twilight series, and more. Click here to listen to the interview and read the full article at MTV.com. You can also read a statement from the band at stepheniemeyer.com.

The Finn... Twilight "The Album"? If there is a God then he will spare everyone from listening to it by simultaneously destroying every copy known to man before horribly and painfully killing Stephanie Meyers while smiling.
