The touring company AND Walla both said August. So, either they're on the second announcement for Splendour, or they're doing a tour that *doesn't* involve Splendour.
No, but seriously, isn't 16 to mid-twenties the time you get completely ridiculously into rock bands? The starry-eyed fanboy/girl'ness sort of die out after that.

nah 12-18 is that annoying time when kids are into bands for the wrong reasons. like say, just because they saw them on the OC...

It's still relevant because there is 18+, and it's basically along the same lines; seperating fans into two groups because one group can legally drink and one cannot.
Saying that myself and other kids are into bands for all the wrong reasons is a bit of a stereotype and generalisation. It may be true in some cases, but I didn't fall in love with Death Cab because of any TV program, nor is that the case with any of the other bands I enjoy. I like the bands that I like because they make music I enjoy listening to and that's how it goes. So you can say that kids around my age are into the fangirl/boy kind of thing, but there are definitely many exceptions to the rule, especially in relation to the people I associate myself with.
I Think it would be great if Death Cab came to Australia.
Pity ill be overseas for Splendour if they did perform there, hopefully ill be able to make it to one of their shows if they come.
I completely understand what you mean about the 'tweenie' ages fans at gigs, i am 14 and go to gigs because i am completely in love with the music i listen to, and adore the way it affects people.
i know how disappointing it is when you go to a show, only to be confronted by massive amounts of screaming teens, yet i still hope Death Cab can put on an all ages show, without the screaming.
i can dream, cant i?
