I messaged Chris Walla via his myspace yesterday about the possibility of an Australian tour in August (they're a strong rumour for Splendor in the Grass, again)..
Chris replied with this:
"Hello!
We should be there, funnily enough, in August. I hope we make it to Adelaide! I really like that town.
i hope they arent there for too long. i still have hopes of them playing leeds/reading in the UK. They are doing that Japanese festival arent they, so probably around then. how many dates did they do last time?
This is the chance i never got to make a move, but we just talk about, the people we've met in the last 5 years and will we remember them in ten more...

Yeah, I know, and I don't blame them. A lot of internationals are having over 18s lately, especially in Melbourne. People my age are really annoying. And lack the ability to be mature and responsible.
I can at least hope it'll be somewhere I can get in with an over 18 guardian. Being completely lame is better than not going at all. Because I don't endorse fake identification.
yesss, been awaiting some information on australian dates! they certainly seem to like touring down here in winter hey. both the last few times have been july. i guess its just scheduling. ahh. they better come back to adelaide!! if not, well, a trip interstate looks on the cards...
I've never understood that american/british/australian (ect. ?) policy of having 21+ or 18+ shows. At least if you do not also have an all ages show. They never do that in Denmark, maybe except if they are specified jazz concerts for a mature audience or things like that. Here the clubs just manage to not serve alcohol to minors and things work out fine... there was nothing i loved more than going to shows when i was 16 and i can only imagine how annyoing it must be to have one your faves visit your nearest major venue for the only time that year and not be able to get in.
