*with Youth Lagoon

Ben tweeted: "Excited to play w/ the Magik*Magik Orchestra this spring! Expect older tunes never played live + recent stuff, all w/ killer arrangements."

Sounds pretty awesome. I'm looking to go to the NYC show and make a weekend out of it. Even considering joining the fan club to get the "premium seating" mentioned on the front page...

I'll be at the NYC too! Looks like my fan club membership is going to finally pay off for this seated show!!

There is an off day before the NYC show and 2 after it, so I wouldn't be suprised at all if they added another show or 2.

Youth Lagoon is going to sound so huge in the beacon, holy reverb!

I wonder what deep cuts will be broken out for these shows?

so one "enhanced merch bundle" ticket is $70 plus ticket price... damn.

i'm going for tickets right at 12 so i'll probably get good seats anyways. a little bummed the limit is 2 tickets though, i'm gonna have to buy two pairs of seats.

Fuck, I have a friend in Grand Rapids. If only it took less than $1000+ and 23 hours to get there from Norwich. I think Death Cab's final show is the only time I'd do that.

Song predictions, anyone?

Here's a couple of my orchestral hopefuls:

No Joy in Mudville - doubt it, but one can dream
Bixby Canyon Bridge - hopefully the only NS song
Debate Exposes Doubt - also doubtful, still dreaming
Song for Kelly Huckaby - this tune begs for strings
Scientist Studies - might be weird, but who cares
This Temporary Life - wildcard

I know this board is a barren wasteland, but c'mon! Gibbard is promising old tunes, this conversation should be on fire right now. Share your thoughts!

WOW, just randomly refreshed the page and got two 7th row tix for NYC, almost 5 hours after they went on sale. sweet.

thanks for bringing that up Pow, i was also wondering that. what the hell could they play, with orchestral arrangements, that they've never played before?

Army Corps of Architects - would be amazing with a string section
Line of Best Fit - also would be great
Debate Exposes Doubt - I don't think it's THAT much of a stretch as its one that is never played (has it ever been played live?)

yeah, definitely wasn't expecting it to be that hard but i don't usually go to NYC shows. keep the tickets page up and randomly refresh it once in a while, you never know. there's still the general sale too!

you guys think they're going to add another NYC date? or maybe play SNL...

sleep spent would be fantastic, so would steadier footing or little fury bugs.

They've definitely played most of their older songs before, so I'm thinking Ben was saying songs that they haven't played in recent years..

I'll keep trying, and I definitely think they will add another nyc date

Yay, got 2 tickets for Los Angeles.

I was hoping they'd play San Diego. But L.A. should be ok.

Ryan, not sure if you only need a single for NYC but there's one ticket up in the pre-sale right now.

thanks for the heads up brian, but I need 2 tickets. I tried anyway and was only able to pull 1 ticket in row h, I'm gonna try the amex presale tomorrow, then the regular sale, and if all else fails, stub hub.

This whole fan club thing is the biggest scam I've ever seen, I wonder if the band actually knows what goes on inside it. The board within the dcfcunion is censored, such bullshit. I complained about how the regular presale sells out instantly, but the overpriced premium package doesn't, and the board didn't even approve my comments, grrrr. I think it's a little suspicious that as soon as the premium bundle "sells out", the regular tickets are magically available in minimal amounts. My theory is that nobody is buying the premium seats, and they are just going to slowly dish them away one by one so nobody wins. Ugh, enough ranting for tonight.

No matter how I do it, I know i'm going to be at this show, and it will be awesome.
