Great show. Three of my favorite bands. Awesome.
Pictures:
Death Cab
Decemberists (Within that album is another album titled "Blurry Fun." As the title suggests, it is full of pictures that aren't beautiful but are too fun not to share. They're mostly pictures of the guys in the crowd.)

I got in line around 2:30, and ended up in the second row (it helped that I ran to the stage after getting my ticket scanned). Also happened to stand right next to someone from the Decemberists' board, which was nice because my friend couldn't make it. It started raining, complete with lightning, about 15-20 minutes before gates opened, and didn't stop until halfway through the Mates' very short set. After that the weather was great. I swear their setup was longer than their set, but I thought MoS sounded good. The Decemberists were awesome. They played Culling of the Fold! And Chimbley Sweep! Chris and John acted out the founding of Bend in the crowd, Colin disappeared then crowd surfed back to the stage, we had an excersize routine. Great fun.
Death Cab was in fine form. Show #5 and it was the first time I was actually able to see Jason drumming. That was really, really cool. Cath... was a highlight because they didn't play it in Eugene. I had fun watching Chris during IWFYITD. He just sat down, maybe a little bored/uninterested, and sang along. I got to listen to sound check while waiting in line (heard about 4 songs), and at one point, they tested the little recorded sounds and I heard "for years..." and got really excited that they would play President of What?. But they didn't.

Colin pointed out at one point that Death Cab had never played this venue without them opening, and said they were there to keep them in line, and that they would keep us updated on what was going on backstage....
John Moen: "I'm getting word that one of the members of Death Cab is pooping in our dressing room. And we don't have a bathroom in our dressing room."

I wrote too much.

EDIT: I forgot...people were wondering after Letterman if Nick sings the IWPYH na nas at live shows. Yes he does.

Nah. I tried, but no luck. I only saw one person get a Death Cab setlist. It was pretty similar to recent shows (I actually thought for the first few songs it would be the same as the Eugene show).

Haha, I did not wimp out! A little rain can't stop a native northwesterner like myself. I didn't see you either, but I saw a bunch of people from school.
And no, I couldn't afford Modest Mouse, otherwise I would have. My dad and I considered staying and just sitting over at the mall or whatever that is and listening to them, but we didn't. How was it?

Hey, Driftwood, they're playing Troutdale on June 26th with Rogue Wave. It's $36 + fees (holy crap). I think I might have to pass on this one, but I hope you can make it.

I know, I looked into it. I'm watching Death Cab like the dude in IWPYH watches the girl. But unfortunately I'm going to be in Idaho. GAH this is so frustrating. -_-
