Hey this has probably already been addressed, but why does Ben Gibbard spit onstage during the live show? I'm guessing he has too much saliva in his mouth but I could be totally off.

Well during the Houston show last night he would turn his back to the audience and spit behind him every so often like inbetween verses.

yah he spits alot.....and sweats even more....and i saw one time when he was sick so he was hacking lugies everywhere and coughing after every verse....i think he spits just to dry his mouth so it doesn't gargle when he sings......?

yea he always spits several times during shows... i guess when youre up there on stage for a while singing your mouth gets full? i dont know. hes still amazing.

yeah i saw them last night. he does spit. a lot. i couldnt really see though cause im short and the guy in front of me was like ginormous. my friend yelled, i love you chris. then i said, i love you more. he smiled. i was happy. still am actually.

I noticed the spitting when I was up in front for the St. Louis show. My husband made the comment that Ben has to be sweatiest person he's ever seen.

I want to bottle any and all fluids Bens body releases. .....and then proceed to sell them to you fine people.
