I'm going to be outside the Apollo as soon as I can, but we're driving up from Northampton so could take a while...too focussed on getting in the queue and getting to the front to go to the pub! If anyone wants to bring me a drink while I wait tho, that'd be great Big Grin

Well, we were there four hours early for the London Camden show, and there were about twenty people in front? We ended up right at the front. That's probably about how early we'll be aiming to get there tomorrow. I'm always too shy to actually go up and talk to other people, but if you say hi I'll chat!

I will also be in the queue from about 4pm. If you see a guy who's about 5'6'', with blonde hair, a patchy beard and wearing a DCFC Union t-shirt, that would be me. Smiler

Just got back from the Brmingham gig. They had bootleg Union t-shirts outside on the street. Weird. Great gig though. Lorry fire had closed all three lanes of the M6 - bloody nightmare getting there. Anyway off to bed.

I'll try and start a conversation then, unless I chicken out. I'll be wearing silver trainers without laces. Other than that, I don't know. And I'm leaving in ten minutes, so I should really get up and get dressed...

See you at the Apollo!

Well, it should be pretty easy to spot a naked man in silver trainers even in the Apollo.

Just found out two other mates are coming so now its a gang of forty year olds. I will be the most handsome one.

My report in brief: that was awesome.

I, with my friend Pete, did end up meeting Charlotte (Char2512) outside at the front of the queue with her friend Matt. Contrary to what some people feared, I don't think the sound was that bad.
Styrofoam played well and gained at least one new fan.

Here's the setlist, typed in my phone as it went along (unfortunately, we couldn't get hold of a real one):

Bixby Canyon Bridge (Chris smiled at my friend and I)
The New Year
Why You'd Want To Live Here
Crooked Teeth
Long Division
Grapevine Fires
A Movie Script Ending
Company Calls
Company Calls Epilogue (like last time, as soon as CC ended, we shouted 'Epilogue!' just to make sure it was played)
Soul Meets Body
I Will Follow You Into The Dark
I Will Possess Your Heart (the most atmospheric song of the night, in my opinion)
Cath...
No Sunlight
Expo '86 (dedicated to Styrofoam)
The Sound of Settling

Encore:
Title and Registration (Ben crouches six feet from the crowd)
405/Your Heart Is An Empty Room (405 was dedicated to Charlotte, who had shouted 'I love you!' earlier in the set. Apparently, Ben liked the sound of it)
Tiny Vessels
Transatlanticism (the second best)

After the concert, our band of four decided to wait outside the crew entrance in hope of catching band members, with around thirty/forty people having the same idea. After about an hour, Ben appeared, earphones in. We shouted him and he said 'Hey guys, I'm on the phone...' then climbed on the bus. We didn't see him after that.

Nick followed about fifteen minutes later, who had to put some stuff on the bus before kindly coming back to see us (half the people left when Ben did). He signed our tickets and we got a few pictures! He told us they'd be back in November and how they choose where they want to tour.

Chris and Jason were the last out. While Jason was quick to head to the bus, Chris hung back for a while for signings/photographs also. I'll try and get those up here as soon as possible.

All in all, an evening I won't forget in a while, and one that was much better than my previous Death Cab experience. Big Grin

That was excellent!

This was my first time seeing Death Cab, and I don't know ALL their music, but there was a really good atmosphere and the songwriting really shone through. It was quite anthemic in places.

I thought the sound was good - I could hear the words Ben was singing, which is OK with me.

To me, and others may disagree, I thought that from Grapevine Fires to Company Calls things went a LITTLE bit off the boil - songs too similar in pace maybe - and the people around me seemed to lose interest a bit...

But then from the moment Soul Meets Body started, it was absolutely top-notch from then on, and the crowd got 100% back into it, and every song seemed to hit the mark.

Hey guys, forum lurker. Went to the apollo last night and it was awesome! Slightly dissapointed with the lack of couches in alleys and marching bands but awesome none the less!

I shot a few videos but i have no idea what the sound is like at the moment.

The coma boy, which ones were you? i hung around where they were loading the lorry up until around 11:30 where they started loading the 2nd lorry and gave up. (had a two hour drive to do and work in the morning! lol)

I was the guy with the umbarell and my girlfriend with red hair.

Fantastic show!

The dreaded Apollo sound never materialized last night. I thought the setlist was great but agree with the fact that one or two people were losing interest until 'Soul Meets Body'

Would be great if they came back in November
