just got back. good show, but i'm a little let down. let's start with the basics. stars fucking rocked it. awesome set. heres the setlist as i remember it:

Going, Going, Gone
Set Yourself on Fire
Soft Revolution
Elevator Love Letter
Reunion
Your Ex-Lover is Dead
What I'm Trying to Say
One More Night (Your Ex-Lover Remains Dead)
Ageless Beauty
The Big Fight
He Lied About Death

death cab's set...for me, there were two fundamental problems:
1. setlist. why you'd want to live here and company calls were prime choices, but there just wasnt enough high quality old material.
2. fans. jesus, what's photobooth without a full crowd singalong? and what's with the clapping at the end of transatlantisicm? no one was really rocking out, dancing, or showing signs of life...even during the big hits and especially during older material. seriously, i thought i was the only one in the venue who had heard president of what? before.

for me, this show paled in comparison to death cab's warfield show in 2004. not really the bands fault though..even with the iffy setlist, it coulda been amazing given an adequate crowd. still a great show though. disappointing, but most definitely worthwhile.

Squidney, you're missing one at the end. The setlist has "Georgie" last.

And I dunno. The crowd was a little lethargic, but it was pretty cramped anyway. That, and having people sing really loudly is obnoxious as fuck. I came to the show to hear Ben, not some prick behind me yelling his throat out.

True story.

hey gumby-

are you talking about the stars setlist? if so, the last song (he lied about death) is about george bush...the band may well know the song as georgie. that's just speculation, but i'm fairly sure that was their entire set. as thom yorke would say though, i might be wrong.

Haha, sorry. You're right, I misread the setlist.

They have "Georgie" down as the last song on the setlist, and I guess I must have seen He Lied About Death in my head.

seriously. i feel your pain. there i was, litterally smashed against some 12 year old girls on the floor who obviously had never heard pres of what or photobooth. it wasnt just them either, i thought i was the only one cheering for those. (they sprung back to life for crooked teeth though...) i also agree that the old songs they played werent the best choices. may 2004 @ fillmore takes the cake in that dept (warfield show last year too).

over all though, i expected the crowd to be far worst. i expected the obnoxious singing (no too loud in my area thankfully). the disrespect for transatlanticism pissed me off, the disrespect and adoration in general pissed me off but...they are the same band i've loved all these years, so i cant complain.

help: what song did ben sing w/ stars?! i cant believe i dont remember...going to listen right now and figure it out...
