I'm a relatively new fan who is gonna see Death Cab at the Merriweather, and I was just wondering if after and/or before the show the guys come out and talk to their fans a little bit.

I met them after a show in August '06. It was outdoors and their bus was right near the stage. If you can find the bus, you probably have a chance of meeting them after the show. Ben waited a long time to come out when I was there.

Hahah oh man, the irony. Anyways the key to meeting people in bands is going to shows early. When I first saw Death Cab chris was walking around outside and I also met alex kapranos too. The bonus on going early was that some radio station was recording a short acoustic set of dcfc and I got to see it. The bonus for going early too is you always get up front. I am ssure it is a possibility that you will meet bands after the show but then again a bunch of other people have the same goal as you. Trust me if you show up to the show around 12 or 1 then you are guaranteed to at least see someone in one of the bands.

Yep. I wasn't as lucky as you, but I did see Chris on the phone walking to get my ticket last year.

The Decemberists were walking around the line to get into their show I went to last year. I didn't talk to them - they were busy, but it was still cool to see them just walking around, going right past you.
