first tour date announced

don't know what to think about the rest of the bands announced, but it doesn't matter since I won't be going. Looking forward to East Coast's Coachella

it's weak compared to last year overall.

Friday seems to be the best day overall. And Saturday-normally the best day--is pretty bad this year other than Death Cab and a few others.

Sorry if this was posted somewhere else, but "Coachella East" has officially been named All Points West, and the lineup was jst announced. No DCfC, but maybe they'll join in??

and to death cab... my friends and i were kind of groaning at how theatrical the stage was, but we got second row so we were all pretty excited.
The Set list went something like this this is by memory with probably some out of order. they only played 2 trans song, 2 plans, 2 photo album, and no facts/planes. And oh yeah...no I Will Follow You Into The Dark!

My respect for Bixby Canyon Bridge shot through the roof--that Eugene bootleg does it no justice. The end is perhaps the greatest instrumentation Death Cab has ever and the closest thing to epic since Transatlanticism. I have this rule where I hate it when people sing at concerts and it's one of my biggest pet peeves, but I broke that last night. I've never seen myself like that and my friend said it was like seeing me in "my natural element". Chris screamed out "What's up Bonnaroo?",but no one heard it except me and a few others around me(who were cracking up), so unfortunately it was followed by an awkward silence. To sum things up, I had never been happier--it just reminded me why I love Death Cab and I walked away wanting the whole damn festival to just end right there, at that perfect moment. So maybe the setlist wasn't that amazing, and ending with Sound of Settling isn't exactly a brilliant closer, but that show was brilliant. I think one of my friends summed it up pretty much perfectly as we were walking away from the mainstage in absolute euphoria trying to catch Rilo Kiley: "They are back."

And for anyone who was wondering, while on paper it doesn't seem possible, this year was just as good if not better than last year.
