A friend just forwarded me an email that Ben is doing a solo show for the Actor's Gang WTF festival - very, very small venue and will be my first DCFC side concert. Anyone know what the set list might be for something like this? A mix of what he's been doing with Jay and DC? Info on the event is here:

The setlist will probably comprise the usual DCFC/Postal Service songs that transfer well to acoustic versions, maybe a track or two from Home and One Fast Move and a cover or three.

Either way, from the recordings I have of Ben's solo shows, they always sound really intimate and great fun. Wish I was going.

I think that this is possibly his first solo outing since Narrow Stairs so a couple of songs from that album may get played for the first time.

The setlist for 9:30 Club May 10th 2007 was:-

To Sing For You/Brand New Colony
Title and Registration
Crooked Teeth
We Will Become Silhouettes
Photobooth
Why You'd Want To Live Here
Passenger Seat
Soul Meets Body
Recycled Air
Farmer Chords
Couches In Alleys
A Lack Of Colour
The Sound Of Settling
Such Great Heights
Blacking Out The Friction
All Apologies
I Will Follow You Into The Dark

That set would suit me fine. Couches In Alleys is fantastic.

Enjoy!

And the hardest part is yet to come

Ooo exciting. From Narrow Stairs/Open Door, I think these might be played:

No Sunlight
Cath
Talking Bird
Grapevine Fires
The Ice Is Getting Thinner
Little Bribes
I Was Once A Loyal Lover (maybe... it would be interesting to hear stripped down)

Just bought 2nd row tickets. I might have to sell these if I can't get anyone to come with me, as I'm in San Francisco but will obviously make the LA trip for a solo Ben. I think this will be an event where requests are taken from the crowd. Only 100 people and we're all paying at least $50 to be there, so I'm hoping he'll be open to some suggestions. Hopefully he doesn't play any Stairs except for Cath / Talking Bird. The rest of the time I'll be screaming out Facts/Photo songs Wink

Just go by yourself! I've never done it but I've heard it isn't too bad.

Seeing the show alone wouldn't be bad at all. I saw Death Cab alone at the Fillmore and met a cool girl there who was also alone Wink

The 6+ hour drive would suck. But I'd still do it. I just wouldn't want to get stuck eating up the other $75 ticket cause nobody could afford it. Luckily I just made a phone call to my friend and he is totally juiced about it and even offered me more than I paid for the ticket just to make sure I'd give it to him. hahah. I'm beyond stoked for this show.

Shit, man. You should go alone if you have to.

Bet he plays Little Bribes since he did it as Casino Blues in 2007.

God, I would piss myself with exitement at seeing this. Even at my age.

You could fit 100 people in our kitchen!

I don't care enough to pay $100 for this.

Trying to buy tickets, but the server appears to have crashed. They're probably sold-out anyways. Bah...

Dang, I'd give my first born to go to this show but their website doesn't seem to be working.

If anyone plans on going solo or has an extra ticket, I would gladly take it off there hands. I live like 10 minutes from the venue. Can't find any friends who want to pay the ticket price.
