This is random...but, Im going to visit Seattle for no particular reason. One of the things I would like to go to see a concert...any recommendations for venues? How about a website that list various shows in the Seattle area? The reason Im am posting here is becuase I figured most you have similar taste in music.

Ha ha. I used to live in Seattle, Olympia, Lacey & Aberdeen. I am in San Diego now. I'm moving back up to Seattle next month. There are a lot of great shows at "The Showbox" & " The Paramount Theatre"

Built to Spill @ The Showbox Looks good.
But I may consider Electrelane @ Neumoes. I found out about these other places online... The Crocodile El Corazon I might have to go to more than one... |

Yeah, especially if that is a big reason for your trip.

There are a lot great venues here in Seattle.
Smallish Neumo's (mix of all-ages and 21+) The Showbox (mix of all-ages and 21+) Crocodile Cafe (mostly 21+) The Vera Project (all-ages) Tractor Tavern (21+) Sunset Tavern (21+) El Corazon (mix of all-ages and 21+) Triple Door (mix of all-ages and 21+) Larger Woodland Park Zoo (ZooTunes summer concert series) Summer Nights at South Lake Union (summer concert series) Moore Theater Paramount Theater EMP SkyChurch White River Amphitheatre (thirty minutes south in my childhood town of Auburn) Huge Key Arena Tacoma Dome When are you planning on coming to Seattle? Check out Pollstar.com for an extremely thorough listing of upcoming shows in the area. Also, check out Sonic Boom and Easy Street Records' websites, as they have free performances and signings all the time. http://www.sonicboomrecords.com http://www.buymusichere.net/stores/easystreet/enter.html |

Thanks!
Your name should be changed to Johnny Very Thorough. I am probably going to go the one of the smaller ones. But I am not sure what else I am going to do (Sky-Rocket-Tall-Thing, maybe?). I may head up to Vancouver for the hell of it as well. I have no reservations to anything, this is going to be a very spontaneous trip. |

Sky-Rocket-Tall thing? You mean the Space Needle, am I correct? You should definately visit Mt. Rainier National Park, along with checking out the Ballard Locks and the Pike Place Market (hell, you're a tourist, you might as well). We also have the Experience Music Project, but I wouldn't really say it's worth the price of admission.
Vancouver is about 2 1/2 hours away from Seattle, just to let you know, but well worth the trip. |

Im totally in some internet cafe on Pike right now!! I just saw Electrelane, not impressed, although Shoplifting was quite the band. I did go you Pike Place (Im staying at the Hostel). The Space Needle looked boring so I didnt pay to go up there, same with Music Project. Ballard Locks, havnt heard of that yet. Ill be here till Friday, so I am not sure what to do next. I already have tickets to Rilo Kiley and Built to Spill. And yes , I will be going to Vancouver as well.
Thanks for the input. |
