I was just listening to the Eugene show bootleg and I noticed something: on "Why You'd Want To Live Here" Ben didn't scream "I might explode..." like he used to live. And now that I think about it, he didn't at Coachella. For anyone who has been at the recent shows, has he stopped doing this?
I'd be bummed if he did, that part always made that song what it is live for me.

Yeah, he didn't at Bend and Eugene which I can account for.

Its reminiscent of Company Calls where at "Synapse to Synapse!" and then quietly comes back with "...will thin or fade"

I just realized I love that as well Justin, I fuckin' love that part of Company Calls the most!

No, you can hear it very clearly. He has definitely been singing it like it is on the album.

He's getting too old for that crazy screaming i guess... but honestly it was kinda getting old too (put on "Drive Well..." to relive it if you must). I just hope he exchanges it for some new gimmicks in other songs. Like, i don't know "won't let you, let me down... so EEEAASILYYYY *breakdown* ... *drums picks up*"

Kyle, I think he just ran out of breath on the John Byrd live EP, but every other version I have of it live , other than the Eugene version, has him screaming it. I love it on the DVD.

I miss that and Giants. Why the hell would they stop playing Giants?!?

He screamed it at Red Rocks.

I love all those little differences between a recording and playing it live. Like in the new year when he goes "..hold us baa-AAAAA-aaack"

Yeah, and the way Chris and Ben alters the guitar lines in that part to make it much more agressive is way cool. Or when Ben pitches the melody up in Epilogue: "for haaaardly moooving".

yeah I don't really remember but I do know he screamed the "synapse to synapse" part of Company Calls in Eugene in April.

Yeah he seems to be doing it again, he did it in SD. But didn't scream "synapse to synapse" during CC.
