Alright since I am probably the only board member to go to this show I will give a quick summary of the show. Basically it was the same show as the eugene show. With a few variations. They played tinny vessels into trans. Actually I think that might of been it. The show started off awesome with Bixby Canyon Bridge. It took a turn for the worse after that. It was depressing the whole crowd only knew the songs off of plans basically. I really didnt realize how many plan fanboys and fangirls there are. I asked a couple people what there favorite songs were and the replies I got were styrafoam cups and 21st century towers. Also someone said there favorite album was transalantica. It was just quite depressing just to hear people only cheer for the stuff off of plans. Actually most of the people didnt even seem to recongnize marching bands. On a good note I saw someone I had met last year at the solo show. Also met a really group of people. The sound was also really bad there the guitar was too loud and you couldnt hear ben at all. And there was alot of really weird feedback from the speakers. I must say I left dissapointed. It was just such a terrible crowd and the band didnt look into it.
I'm proposing a swift and orderly change |

Aw, that must have sucked. I'm sorry it wasn't as great as you expected. I'm seeing them in June and I'm glad I'm going with some people who, while they don't like death cab nearly as much as I do, aren't just familiar with plans.
----- and I hope you have more luck with this than me. |

When I go to my first concert in June, I'm definitely hoping for some songs from Plans and Transatlanticism. Those are the ones I know the best. But by then I will have listened to the new stuff a lot so I hope to sing along with them too.
It doesn't sound as bad as your experience, but I got to a lot of Dave Matthews Band concerts and there's a lot of the same kind of stuff. "I want to hear stuff from Crash. I don't know the new stuff." It's their loss really. *************************************************** You're so beautiful. You could be a part-time model |

I went to the Davis show as well, I had a final at 3 for one of my classes so i didnt start driving till about 4. By the time i got there it was like 5:30( I was driving from san jose). But i ended up being like 100th in line. I also thought the show was a little bit less then what i was expecting. Ben didnt really interact with the crowd as much as thought he would. I was pretty pleased with what they played, but i would have loved for them to play lack of color or 405. I also went to the fillmore show, but im gonna post about that in the other thread.

I also went to the Davis show. I admit the crowd was a bit of a disappointment. The only song the everyone knew by heart was "I Will Follow You Into The Dark". I was excited, however when they performed "Company Calls", a song from my favorite album. I think I was the only one singing along.

They didn't play 405? Interesting. Anyone know the setlist?

I hate for my first post on this lovely board to be a negative one, but that crowd really blew. hard. So hard, in fact, that I felt I had no choice but to craigslist a ticket to the Fillmore the next night to make up for it.
Don't get me wrong, Davis is a beautiful place in terms of scenery, and I enjoyed Death Cab's set, but I swear there were so many people there who had no idea that the band had written a single note of music before Plans came out. So yeah, sorry to rant, but all in all Im glad I got to see them two nights in a row, regardless of how the people around me were acting. Anyways, here's the setlist as I remember it: Bixby Canyon Bridge The New Year Why You'd Want To Live Here Photobooth Long Division Talking Bird/Grapevine Fires I Will Follow You Into The Dark Soul Meets Body I Will Possess your Heart We Laugh Indoors A Movie Script Ending Crooked Teeth The Sound of Settling Marching Bands of Manhattan Encore: Title and Registration Tiny Vessels Your New Twin Sized Bed Transatlanticism Not totally positive about the order, as it was a few nights ago and my brain is a little fried from my roommate's 21st birthday last night, but the songs played should be accurate. |

Odd if they didn't play Tiny Vessels into Trans.

i've seen death cab live three times and not once have they played tiny vessels. i'm praying that they'll play it in Camden on the 6th.
