lol. That kind of reminds me of this odd thing that happend to my friends band. They played their set and everyone enjoyed them, so they wanted a few more songs, to which my friend on stage questioned his bandmates going "do we have anymore songs?" to this someone in the crowd screamed out "make some up!" dont ask me why but I find that very funny. __________________________ I saved Latin, what did you ever do? |

YES, AND I WAS THERE!!!, i have the publicity in myspace in the GENERAL section,
the singer said before they started playing: OH, THE GIFTS!!!, and he took a lot of cd's and started throwing them to the people, and like 5 songs after that, he took a lot of LP'S, and threw them as well, i did't catch any of them because i wasn't that close at that moment, at the end of the show i went to a store nearby to buy some water, and a guy was there with an AMANSET LP, and CD, i asked him about it, and he said, THE SINGER GAVE THEM BOTH TO ME JUST LIKE HE KNEW ME DURING THE SHOW, lucky bastard |

I saw my friends band play in some guys basement last night, it was actually pretty packed. It reminded me of high school....did anyone else ever do that? (I may be aging myself here...)

Andrew Bird at the Fillmore in SF on the first of this month. SO AMAZING.
I honestly didn't know what to expect going into it. I mean, I knew he'd be good, but I didn't know he'd be so good. The songs all came off incredibly well, but had just enough flourishes to make them stand out from the album versions. Plus he played "Simple X", which almost made me lose it. Apostle of Hustle opened, and weren't bad at all - definitely made me give their stuff a second listen. Overall, an awesome show. The only gripe was that it was sweltering in there and people were being a bit too shove-y for my taste, but I guess that ain't Andrew's fault. _________________________ you're kidding yourself. |

omigoodness.
hellogoodbye and three lame bands that all sounded the same. ill start at the beginning... we sat outside in the scorching heat of arizona for an hour and a half. then they let us in. we went inside. i flirted with the peta2 guy for a while and picked up some stickers. then i bought a small hellogoodbye tote bag, which is awesome by the way. then, we went inside the stuffy little room they call the marquee theatre. and we waited some more. suddenly, this lame band called 'a cursive memory' starts playing some lame love song. seriously, they sounded like second graders with cheap guitars. very generic sounding. then, the rocket summer came on. they were okay, loads better than the first one, but still pretty shitty. i'd say 6th graders with slightly better guitars. then boys like girls came on. so bad i can't even explain. then, HELLOGOODBYE comes out. everyone screams like crazy. FORREST KLINE comes out in blue jean cutoffs and a purple t-shirt. they play a song. forrest talks. song. talking. so on... then, he plays the sweetest song in the entire world, oh it is love. he's just standing there, strumming his little heart out, when some chick yells at him. he messes up. he starts again, then some other chick yells at him. he messes up again. why must teenage girls be so rude?! then, the rest of the show goes on. we went outiside and waited at the tour bus gates. forrest was too drunk to come out. |
