Great to see that Chelsea wasted 23 million paying off managers and coaches last season.

Not including big Phil's payout for failing.

23 million.

23 fuckin million.

Jeez.

And the hardest part is yet to come

It's hard to be interested in a tournament that's missing 3 of the top teams in the world. Italy are going to be the whipping boys again this year by the looks of it. Are Wales the favourites this year or does that still go to the English?

I watched the England/Wales game. Couldn't stand the Welsh fans though, proper love the fact they were beating England, proper inferiority complex there. I hate it when Scotland/Wales/Ireland win anything against us English, they proper love beating us so much.

Nah, they've pretty much spent nothing this season, and are 3rd in the league, in the FA Cup quarter-finals and still in the Champions League. If that's bad show, show me good.
Bad is paying £30 to watch your team lose 3 - 0 to scousers, and watching a muppet on loan from Manchester City score two goals. Bolton were so bad last weekend we made Phil Neville look like Pele.

Although I agree on Chelsea wasting sooooo much on managers. Chelsea are a bunch of absolute nobodies, they think cos they won the Carling Cup and had Jose Mourinho as manager they deserve to win the league every year. Muppets. Can't wait till our White Army crush them in April!

I'm going lad, we should win. I honestly see it being a great game, us edging it 3 - 2 and sending you lot down. No offence but that's how I see it.
Although if we play like we did on Saturday we will go down, for sure, I went to the Everton game and was embarssed to call myself a Bolton Wanderers fan, absolutely awful display, fucking pathetic. Stoke look okay at home, but it's gonna be difficult for you to stay up to be fair.

HAVE SOME OF THAT!

Yeah we were shit. Did you go? Your stadium is in the middle of nowhere, and I didn't get home till 12, which was a bad night!
Good away following though, and if we had an adequate defence it would have been a draw.

True. The one touch passing against Villa last Sunday was superb.

And on the back of the win at Old Trafford and at home against Real Madrid.

Gerrard, world's best player? No doubt.

Just realised something. Week on Saturday, Liverpool play and can go back to the top if they win. Although Scum U will probably go back above them on Sunday, it'll make 'em think.

I'll watch out for them mate. I'm really watching Luton this season, after their 30 point deduction and they're still in with a chance of staying in League 2, would love it if they stayed up. The way the points deduction is working atm is an absolute scandal.

Graham. You read The Damned United? I read it recently and I'm going to the pictures today to watch the film.

I know you mentioned watching Leeds, so I suppose it'd be very relevant for you. I'd recommend the book a million times over, fantastic. The amazing thing is looking at where Leeds are now, League One football, I've always respected their fans for still going in large numbers but all my football friends still hate Leeds.

Okay I'll make a few predictions.

Western Conference:
1. San Jose - After their game against Anaheim today (which they should win as a statement game), they will easily win out their remaining 3 as their opponents are Phoenix, LA, and Colorado; the three worst teams in the West.

2. Detroit - They can only move into first by winning out and having the Sharks lose out. Calgary is too far behind in points to catch up and take 2nd from them.

3. Vancouver - 3/4 of their remaining games are at home, including their big game against Calgary. Their other 3 opponents are weak, non contending teams (except Edmonton who I don't predict will make it).

4. Calgary - Only because Chicago's last 5 games are all against contending teams, with 2 of the 5 being a home and away series against Detroit.

5. Chicago - See above.

6. Columbus - Possibly their first playoff berth in franchise history. They have too much at stake to choke it up at this point.

7. Anaheim - Much to my dismay, the Ducks are on a tear right now. A 4 game winning streak and 9-1-0 in their last 10 games takes their morale through the roof going into the post season. Hopefully the Sharks will crush them today and derail them a bit, but I still see them holding on to the #7 spot, their last 2 games being against Dallas and Phoenix.

8. St. Louis - The Blues play Phoenix, Colorado, and Columbus for their last 3. The Blues need to win at least 1 game to make headway over Nashville for the #8 spot (assuming Nashville loses out). Since Phoenix and Colorado are way out of the playoff picture, the Blues need to make sure they take those other 2 games without a hitch.

Eastern Conference:
Not as tight of a race as we see in the West so I'll keep it short and sweet.

1. Boston - Duh.

2. New Jersey - They're tied with Washington in points but I think they'll ride their winning streak into the playoffs

3. Washington - Will finish strong but still behind New Jersey.

4. Carolina - These dudes have been straight shredding. 8 game winning streak to put them not only into playoff contention, but into a home ice advantage situation to boot.

5. Pittsburgh - Maybe Crosby and co. can do some last minute impressing and give their fans some hope for a successful run at another Stanley Cup Final appearance.

6. Philadelphia - Balls.

7. Montreal - 7th place? Seriously? Yep. I thought these guys were All-Stars?

8. New York Rangers - It's a close race for 8th but if the Rangers have any shred of dignity they'll hold on. Maybe Sean Avery can save them from utter embarrassment.

Playoffs - YEAH BABY!!!!!
Okay I'm in a rush so I ain't elaborating on shit. We can chat later.

Western Quarterfinals
(1) San Jose vs (8) St. Louis
San Jose wins 4-1

(2) Detroit vs (7) Anaheim
Detroit wins 4-2

(3) Vancouver vs (6) Columbus
Columbus wins 4-2

(4) Calgary vs (5) Chicago
Calgary wins 4-3

Eastern Quarterfinals
(1) Boston vs (8) New York
Boston wins 4-1

(2) New Jersey vs (7) Montreal
New Jersey wins 4-3

(3) Washington vs (6) Philadelphia
Washington sweeps 4-0

(4) Carolina vs (5) Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh wins 4-3
