Anyone else listening listening to this album?

It reminds me a lot of the strokes in some spots, and then as Kris said, Paul Simon's Graceland in one song, and then reggae/ska in another song, then The Beatles in other songs, but I find it entertaining.

It's not really my thing. To me it's just poppy and upbeat music without too much depth, I have a hard time getting into it, but I don't mind it.

I agree with Morgan. Most of my friends absolutely love it, and they are one of the main reasons for their going to Coachella this year. And don't get me wrong, I don't hate them, but... I have NO idea why they are getting this insane amount of hype. And I think this is just another sign of where independent music and music in general is headed... trying to sound as weird and different as possible in order to come across as original. It just doesn't do much for me, and like Morgan said it doesn't seem to have much depth.

What the fuck is wrong with happy music without much depth? Don't you like happy music? Does it make you feel dirty?

im not really that keen on vampire weekend. but at least in america people are trying to be original. in britain music all seems to be nme-approved bland un-interesting stuff, save a few examples (radiohead).

I wouldn't go anywhere just to see them, in fact I probably wouldn't even see them, but it's nice to have something upbeat to listen to in the car that's not trying to be more than it is.

Instead of saying that about the U.K i'd be more inclined to say that about U.S music and to a greater degree Australian music (but no one outside of the country gives a hoot about our industry anyhoo)
