You know, I talk to many of the people on here throughout the forums. I speak to them as if i know them. i realized that i don't know much about anyone here. This isn't some thread where you tell me about your self directly. To relate this to death cab, i thought we could all post a death cab song and how it affects us. Why we love that song, how it makes us feel, etc. it doesn't have to be your favorite song, since many of us don't have a #1 favorite. Well, here's mine. maybe you can learn something about me.

We looked like giants is my favorite death cab song. The lyrics help me remember that life isn't perfect. that we can all imagine something and plan it out but it turns out to be something completely the different, for better or worse. I love this song because it helps me through life how i can't rely on something i made years, weeks, or even a minute in advance. That i must go through my moments and know that this is life.

your turn

Tiny Vessels because it's the story of one of my summers too. I find myself agreeing with everything that he is saying, exept the 'moving in the dark' part. I have not spoken with that boy ever again, so it helps me remember how perfect everything was. How the song opens gives me shivers. (This is the moment that you know, that you told her that you loved her, but you don't.) It's like total bliss for me, and closure at the same time.

oh my, there are so many death cab songs that relate almost eerily with my life. I will choose the one that's almost word for word what happened to me though. It's Photobooth.

It was summertime and if I remember correctly it was the 5th of July. My boyfriend at the time and I didn't have pics together yet so we decided to go to the photobooth in Macy's at the mall. We went there and took some cute little kissy pics (totally cliche) and then went back to his house. No one was home and it was just me and him.

"And everything that I said was true,
As the flashes blinded us in the photobooth.
Well, I lost track, and then those words were said.
You took the wheel and you steered us into my bed.
Soon we woke and I walked you home,
And it was pretty clear that it was hardly love.
"

That day was the day everything fell apart for me and him. I went home feeling terrible about myself because truth be told, I didn't really love him even though he seemed to love me. We broke up a month later. Sad eh?
