Hey everybody, ley's do the twist.

So, since this year is almost over, I figured it would be fun to do this.

Pretty simple, just list your 10 favorite albums this year and write a little explanation to each album.

Go!

1. Our Love to Admire- Interpol

ABSOLUTE BEST ALBUM!!! Amazing!! This album proves that Interpol=sex. They are not like sex, they are not better than sex...they ARE sex. They are THAT good.
Best Song- Pace Is The Trick

2. The Magic Position- Patrick Wolf

Second best album of the year by far. Although not as good as his previous stuff, it is quite amazing and mesmerizing.
Best song- Augustine

3. Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?

This one blew me away. Each track trippier than the last.
Best Song- The Past is a Grotesque Animal

4. Wincing the Night Away- The Shins

I was so surprised by this album. I disliked their second album, and lost some hope for the, but when Wincing came out, I was so thrilled.
Best Song- Split Needles

(beyond these, they come in no particular order)

5. Voxtrot- Voxtrot

Great album by a great band. Amazing stuff.
Best Song- Kid Gloves

6. Everybody- The Sea and Cake

Nice album...they kept true to themselves, and their style.
Best Song- Up On Crutches

7. Yours Truly, Angry Mob- The Kaiser Chiefs

Best Song- Ruby

8. Neon Bible- The Arcade Fire

Best Song- Intervention

9. The Reminder- Feist

Best Song- So Sorry

10. Beyond the Neighborhood- Athete

Best Song- Hurricane

I still think it's too early. I think half-way into December is a good time to start these, but there are still a lot of good releases coming out.

did anyone else think this year kind of sucked?

I mean I remember reading the 2007 Anticipation article in Under the Radar last year and being blown away at the amount of great music that was going to come out, but now in hindsight... not very many of those bands released anything I would go back to on a regular basis.

I thought this year was fantastic. There's so much good music from 2007, I couldn't believe it. So, Justin, I'd have to disagree with you.

I kinda agree with you Justin.

I think there were good releases, but very few that I ever go back to. I loved We Were Dead Before... but I haven't listened to it since it came out. Same with Wincing the Night Away. But I've been listening to In Rainbows a ton since it came out.

I do think that there were a lot of great songs, but... not many good albums front to back
