Totally agree with 'Me You and Everyone we Know'...Miranda July is amazing!

If you like Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind then try The Science of Sleep...also by Michel Gondry and stars Gael Garcia Bernal and Charlotte Gainsbourg...kinda half subtitled, a bit off kilter but charming nonetheless

I loved Science of Sleep and quite disliked Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Is that weird?

Saw a film with my school that was independantly funded, called London to Brighton. A bit strange but nonetheless interesting.
If you've heard of a film called The Cottage, it's the same writer, never can remember his name though.

I saw London to Brighton. I have to say it wasnt brilliant, but I found it worth the watch for at least the once Razzer
some pretty dark subject matter from what I remember.

It's not something i'd recommend to others.

ohh excellent suggestions - all my favourite movies!

i was also WAY more into science of sleep than eternal sunshine. i think it was something about the lead character in science of sleep, he was just so.... indescribable, but definitely a major part of why i loved the film.

most of my favourites have been listed, ummmmm

- be kind rewind(is another gondry, alot of people rejected it because it wasn't as arthouse but i really enjoyed it)

- a clockwork orange is always a classic

- amelie is another beautiful foreign one (though extremely mainstream - just love it anyway haha)

- cashback is a really good one

- fear and loathing in las vegas

- garden state

- la vie en rose is another beautiful foreign one

- hard candy

- the original little shop of horrors!!!

and i am going to have to agree with little miss sunshine and stranger than fiction = my two favourite movies, pretty much.

I haven't seen it, but have only heard good things about Half Nelson. I've been amped to see it but just missed catching it in the theatres in the Village.

Off the top of my head, here are some great (but not necessarily indie) movies:

Wristcutters: A Love Story
The Royal Tenenbaums
The Prestige
Rocket Science (Okay, I haven't seen this, but it seems like your typical indie film, and I adore the soundtrack composer)
I <3 Huckabees
Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (aka Amelie)
The Darjeeling Limited
Shoot 'Em Up (no, I am not joking)
Death To Smoochy
