This album is amazing, reminds me of when Death Cab for Cutie sounded fresh. Please check out my review here http://www.joenava.com/?p=551 and tell me what you think.

Thanks guys!

Holy shit, blast from the past right there. I'm going to agree with brian and say that at this stage, album of the year. Not that it has much competition from my point of view. slow year to say the least.

The new Phoenix is pretty good. I was totally disappointed with the new Decemberists but it's kind of growing on me. Digging the new Animal Collective, still listening to Deerhunter, Of Montreal and Department of Eagles from last year.

Top albums of the year so far are Phoenix, Decemberists, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, and DMB. (yes, DMB)

Anyways, Veckatimest is at my #1 spot right now. Standout tracks:

Southern Point
Two Weeks
Cheerleader
Ready, Able (amazingamazingamazingamazingamazingamazing)
While You Wait for the Others
I Live With You
Foreground

All We Ask, Fine For Now, and Dory are great also. The whole thing is pretty genius.

I can't get into the new Grizzly Bear, and beleive me I've tried. I just don't really dig their style. The new Au Revoire Simone record is good though, as is A.C Newman's Get Guilty. Can't say enough about that record.

When lava flows underwater it behaves differently.

And I have learned that even landlocked lovers yearn for the sea like navy men.

I prefer the Phoenix record. Really good.

Everyone who is skeptical about it, make sure you give it a few listens. Really pay attention to each song... you'll appreciate it so much more.

Check out this single of 'While You Wait for the Others', if really only for the bonus Michael McDonald (once a member of Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers) baritone version. Is good.
